  1. Yeah man! That's the other thing, I agree it feels like a one piece rod. I also have a ML Fenwick Walleye 6'9" 2 piece and a Fenwick River Runner UL that's the same deal. Feels like a one piece.
  2. St Croix ML Premier 6'6" would be a nice moderate priced rod. Great for lots of applications.
  3. I was in the market for a high quality Ultra Light spinning rod for stream bass, finesse bass and panfishing with light stuff. I don't like most Ultra Lights because the actions seem too soft for me so I took a chance on a Major Craft 642 2 piece Corzza. I bought it on Ebay for $135 shipped. This rod gets an A+ from me. It has an XF action with a nice amount of backbone, beautiful cork and a nice sold handle, and tangle free Fuji guides. The manufacturing is really nice, great finishing and well put together. It's line rating is 3-7lb and 6'4" which is right up my alley. I'm glad I took the chance it's exactly what I was looking for. It's no noodle rod, so it casts accurately and is very sensitive. Does anyone else have experience with Major Craft rods? I'm thinking of getting a medium action now.
  4. I recently had the same issue. I was returning a G. Loomis 6'6" one piece rod for a warranty replacement (broken handle) and the USPS quote was $95, so I went to FedEx and they told me it was $50.00. I declined and left the store, then changed my mind went back in and decided to just go ahead and to use FedEx. They punched it in again and it was $32.00.......why? Who knows. I asked the woman charging me what happened and she didn't know. Chicago to the West coast is always more expensive than a more local shipping destination so I was happy with the $32.00 charge. And getting a brand new replacement for 12 year old rod was pretty excellent too.
  5. Real Magic is a nice product. I use it on all kinds of line. Helps with line management, less memory and less tangles.
  6. Hello I am a Shimano spinning reel fan. I have a Nasci 1000, two Stradic 1000FK, and one Stradic 2500FK and they all seem to have the same quirk. All are extremely smooth, cast great, don't twist line, and have a super smooth drag. However, the one slight issue I have with these reels happens every 10 or so casts. When opening the bail they feel a little spongy instead of clicking strongly into place into the open position. The bails never slam closed on casts but they don't always have that nice solid "click" when opening them. The issue can happen in any position of the bail. Does anyone else ever have this issue? Thanks
  7. G Loomis CR 722 for a 6' rod,St Croix Avid or Premier 6'6" Medium casting, Just checked out the new Cabela's XML topwater/Jerkbait rod and it felt great at 6'7"
  8. I have both of those rods and I think both are great. I am also a big fan of 6' rods since I do most of my fishing from a canoe or small boat. The MH rod is very similar in action to a St Croix 6' Premier Medium action rod. Both are great all around bass rods for most situations and lure types and weights. You made the right decision on the MH. The medium action G Loomis really shine with medium crank and minnow baits. Also 3.5" and 5" soft swimbaits are great with both.
