  1. Bantam Mag 250 is a great reel. Sloooooow retrieve.
  2. With a little salt and turmeric!
  3. I had all the same gear you have when I was switching from a canoe to a boat. I went with a porta bote brand folding boat. It’s 10’ and super stable. 73lbs and two people can stand and fish with no wobble. Look them up, a great option.
  4. I not talking about the cast adjustment. I'm talking about adjusting from the 6.3oz reel to the 8oz reel, size and weight.
  5. That's ridiculous. Sure this type of thing may happen now and again, but there are tons of stores that sell on Ebay. Lots of times the price the stores sell at on Ebay are much lower than the price they have available on their site. For example, American Legacy, Sportman's Outfitters, Delaneys Outdoor, and Departure Outdoors (online only but a trusted seller of major brands of fishing gear). Not to mention the tons of sellers who make their own soft baits, weights and jigs heads that are great products at an excellent price. Ebay is a platform, use it with common sense.
  6. The 100 is a great reel. Nice and small and light weight. Casts great. I also have a Tatula 150 but be aware that it's 8oz. It took me a little while to get used to its weight. I was used to Lew's 6.3oz reels which are very small and light. With the Tatula 100 there was no adjustment period. Both reels are very easy to set up for casting. I bought a second 100 for $100.00 at Sportsman's Outfitters, they are on sale right now. Also Chatterbaits and, Bandit 100s were added because they are a great price now too. I need to stop buying tackle. Also by the way I have it on a Fury 734 and 735 and it's a prefect match. It's a nicely balanced setup for such a heavy duty rod.
  7. The Tatula LT's are killer reels. I have 5 of them. The 3000 in the shallow spool version is a perfect bass reel. The 2000 has the same line capacity as the shallow spool 3000 but is overall a little smaller. I use them on my light setups fo stream smallmouth and finesse stuff. They are my favorite spinning reels for sure. Check Ebay to save yourself plenty of $.
  8. I'm old school with my grub fishing. My two favorites are the Fat Albert and the Stingray. The 2.5" Stingray on a ball head jighead moves so well in the water. The shape makes it move with a unique flutter. The last two years I have been using the Stingray on 3/16 and 5/16 finesse jigs with excellent success. Very subtle.
  9. Got it. That reel does look pretty slick. Congrats.
  10. I'm not too familiar with bait-finesse stuff. Why would you choose a round reel for finesse use? That rig looks really nice.
  11. I use this one and it's really great. https://www.amazon.com/EGO-WADE-Nets-Medium-Rubber/dp/B001TEOPRU/ref=asc_df_B001TEOPRU/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312065559007&hvpos=1o5&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17091282954803140963&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021723&hvtargid=pla-569585112690&psc=1
  12. I second this motion.
  13. The Cabelas Walleye series spinning rods are fantastic. Really light and sensitive.
  14. Yes. I also use the 6" Zoom lizard. Texas rigged with a pegged bullet weight all spring and summer. Along with the Zoom speed craw and small size Christie Critter, the 6" lizard are my three go to's.
  15. American Legacy has the new Tatula 100 reels on sale for $109.00
  16. For me it's the Daiwa Tatula 6'6" medium spinning rod. The new version with the awesome cork handles. Super light and sensitive. Very well made rod. Check Ebay, there are some around for around $100.00 too. I have mine paired with Tatula LT 3000 shallow spool reel. Best balanced spinning rig I've ever felt.
  17. 100% yes. These PP light pound test lines are super limp and easy to deal with. Never one issue.
  18. 8, 10 and 15lb Power Pro is pretty slick casting line after a few minutes of casting. I use 8,10, and 15 PP on my spinning reels and it's fantastic handling line.
  19. I love all of the jointed Rapala sizes. The small J-5 and J-7 are fantastic stream baits. The J-9 and J-11 and bass and pike killers. Last season in the early spring the bass in my local lake were feeding on very small shad. and I was killing with the silver J-5. Lots of two-four pound fish and that little dude held up great. The J-11 is a big bass lure.
  20. I use the shallow LT3000 with the Tatula 6'6" med fast rod and I agree with you. It's the best medium spinning setup I have ever used. It's so light strong and balanced. The LT's are my favorite spinning reels these days.
  21. Here's that style: https://www.amazon.com/Arkie-Un-Painted-Weedless-Stand-Up-Heads/dp/B06XY61HB2 Price is too high though.
  22. I love all of them. I have two Tatula LT 2000, two 2 Tatula LT 3000 spinning reels, one Tatula Medium 6'6" Spinning rod, and one Tatula 150 casting reel. The LT3000 and matching rod is the lightest, best balanced rig I have ever felt. It's perfect. The 2000LT's are my finesse reels. They have held up to 4lb bass and 35" pike with no problems. The 150 casting reel weighs about 8oz and took a little getting used to but now I love it. I was used to Lew's 6.3oz reels. It casts great without any issues and is super smooth. I decided to change a bunch of gear last season, and after trying out a bunch of stuff I kept settling on the Tatula stuff. That's my 2 cents.
  23. Nice. I have a LTB 6'8" MH that's a tough rod. It has a fast action and is very powerful. It's super sensitive and casts great. I find it slightly tip heavy with 6.3oz reels, but with my Daiwa Tatula 200 it's perfect. Which one did you get? What reel did you pair it up with?
  24. Super chunk Jr., Stingray grub, and Yum Wooly Bug 3.25" on 5/16 finesse jigs are my choices.
  25. I bought a bunch of size one blade safety pin spinners and I add a regular ball-head jig in 1/16oz or 1/8oz sizes. Whatever plastic bait you want. Or you can go out and buy some Beetlespins and call it a day.
