  1. I agree but I have so many I want to dye some.
  2. I've been using these for years and they are excellent quality. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2Pcs-Black-Tungsten-Bullet-Flipping-Weight-Fishing-Sinker-Lure-Fishing-Acces-TOU/123230783975?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=423638085098&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 Also take a few weeks to arrive.
  3. I was given two 100 count bags of white grubs. Anyone have a recommendation on how to dye some of them a green/black/craw color? Looking for a more natural dark vibe.
  4. If the 6’10” medium is anything like the legend glass version it will be fantastic.
  5. I have both. The Daiwa 150 is a touch over 8oz and has a larger frame. It's a fantastic reel. It casts great and is super smooth when reeling. Barely ever backlashes even with wind around. It has a large line capacity too, if that's something you need. The Curado has a more connected feel but isn't better. Both are excellent reels. I have three Curado K's two in the 6 speed and one in the 7 speed. The 7 speed is not as smooth reeling as the 6 speed, the gearing just feels rougher.
  6. You love the Ned Rig huh? 5 combos on the boat at one time? All with different baits?
  7. Those Arkie hooks he posted about are lead free. The weighted part is not lead.
  8. I would avoid it. I just went through that with a seller "selling" Curado K reels for $135.00. New seller selling Shimano reels and gym bags. I took a shot. I got my money back but I had to wait for Ebay to step in. It took 3.5 weeks.
  9. I bought these hooks last season at my local tackle shop on clearance. They were .75 per 4 pack of Falcon branded Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG hooks. I initially bought them to cut off the lead and use them as regular EWG hooks. What I found out was they are fantastic for flukes. The lightest weight makes flukes move great and helps keep them down a little, and the heavier weights get the flukes down deeper. The small lead weight keeps the flukes on for a long time too. I had never seen these before. Anyone know any companies who make them like this? I bought a ton so I should be good for 2 seasons.
  10. Daiwa Tatula SV TWS and Shimano Curado K would be my vote. For spinning reels I would say Tatula LT and Stradic FK My older Lew's Pro G reels are about 4 years old and still working like new. Haven't tried the new versions.
  11. I have the 6'10" MH casting. I also have a Tatula 6'6" spinning rod that has smaller guides near the tip 4mm that also pass FG knots with zero issues.
  12. Yup inside diameter. Yeah the criteria for guide size terminology seem all over the place.
  13. Which Chicago stores have real fishing gear? They always seem to have junk in them.
  14. Those tangle free guides small sizes on my tatula start at 4.5mm ring diameter. there seem to be lots in-between size guides too, these seem to fit in that size for me. I don't know what the cut off point is for micro guide sizing but I think of micro guides as these:
  15. The Daiwa Tatula rods don't have micro guides. They have Fuji FazLite Tangle-Free K-guides.
  16. Check out the new Daiwa Tatula bass rods. They are really nice and sensitive, and very well-balanced. They have lots of really nice actions. I have three I would recommend them for your price range. These have cork grips too.
  17. This what they look like?
  18. Cool thanks. Are they 2 3/4"?
  19. Hello There's a seller on Ebay selling bags of NetBait Chunker Munkers jig trailers. I can't find any information about them Googling. Does anyone know the size of these trailers? They look like a great trailer.
  20. Do you have trouble getting a good hook set? If you texpose the hook 6lb seems really light to me.
  21. Hey, you feel like the 6'10" MH/F isn't well matched up with a 3/8oz jig? That rod is weighted for 1/4-1oz. Would you say in general that is seems under powered for it's rating? Would you say the 6'10" MH/F would be a good jig rod for 3/8oz jigs + trailer? Looking for a nice bottom contact rod. Another poster said it seemed a little under powered.
  22. Sportsmans Outfitters has Daiwa Tatula rods on sale from $99.00! These are a deal at $150.00. I picked up two.
  23. Hey how do you like that St Croix glass rod? I checked out the 6'10" medium at Cabelas and it felt awesome, maybe a little tip heavy.
  24. I think the Dobyns fast action is kind of a moderate/fast action or between moderate/fast and fast. When I first started using them for jigs and texas rigs I thought they would be too slow, but I changed my mind after catching a few bass on them. They keep fish pegged and are easy to cast too. I still have some fast action Loomis and St Croix rods that I love, but the slower action is great too. I also found Dobyns actions are great for spinner/chatter baits and square bills too. Great all around action.
