  1. You extended the handle?
  2. Get the Tatula LT 3000 shallow spool version. It's a fantastic drop shot reel!
  3. Hello I’m looking for my first fish finder that has to be portable so I can carry it to my boat as a whole unit/case. Can anyone recommend something? Under $300 total. Thanks
  4. Last year I hooked some line and couldn’t get loose. I went over to the snag and pulled up a log with about 15 different lures and a giant tangle of line all from one submerged log. I felt great throwing it away back at the ramp, but it did make me think about all the tackle lost in the lake.
  5. My 6’6”-7’ rods usually cost about $45.00 at both ups and FedEx. I think the price is higher in Chicago.
  6. I use my 6’6” spinning rod for 5/16 finesse jigs and can feel very light bites. I have it paired with 3000 Tatula LT and it’s perfectly balanced and super light. I would say they are very sensitive rods.
  7. I see. Are you using 65lb braid in heavy cover for over 7lb bass? I used to use an old lews graphite frame reel for frogging. It never flexed but did wear out in two years. It was actually when I started buying more expensive reels that last much longer. But if you already have a Casitas I would just use it.
  8. I only use yellow original recipe Power Pro in 8,10,15,30, green in 50lb for frogging.
  9. My favorite is the Dynamic Lures Travado (discontinued) BUT also do great with the Husky Jerk (both regular and deep versions), X-Rap, and the little known Lucky Craft Bevy Shad 75SP. The Bevy Shad is kind of a shad shape, not long and skinny. It's a Smallmouth catcher big time.
  10. Are you worried about the graphite frame?
  11. I have the 6’10” MH fast. It’s an awesome Texas rig/jig rod. I felt the 7’1” rod you mentioned and it was nice. The extra fast tip was cool, not too stiff.
  12. Some of my favorite rods. I have a 6'6" medium spinning rod and a casting rod. They are really light, well balanced and sensitive. I recommend them. Every one I have felt in the store has made me want to get it too. They remind me of my old Loomis IMX rods in regards to lightness and balance.
  13. In the bargain cave there are 244 items in the soft plastic section alone. Only a handful are listed at sale price. Your looking at the “new this week “ section. I’m talking about the “bargain cave” section under fishing.
  14. If I were you I would stay away from fluorocarbon line when you are learning to cast a bait caster. Start with mono, it's cheaper and much more forgiving with black lashes. You will get plenty of backlashes while learning.
  15. I've been shopping at Cabelas for decades and have always had great experiences with their branded gear. Rain coats, rods, soft plastics, pliers, PFDs, paddles, you name it. Last time I went into my local store I spoke with a knowledgeable sales person when I saw that almost all of the Cabela's soft plastics have been deleted, and replaced with BPS branded baits. The BPS baits were everywhere in the store actually. The sales person said most of the Cabela's gear has already been deleted. You guys seeing the same thing in your Cabelas stores? It seems like an odd business decision to me, unless they plan on closing Cabela's stores and turning them into BPS stores. If all the Cabela's stores have all the same gear as BPS why even bother?
  16. For some reason the Cabela's Bargain Bin on their site has mostly gear that isn't on sale.
  17. 8,10, and 15lb power pro on all my spinning reels. I only use the FG knot to mono or fluorocarbon leaders. Never had one issue on any setup in 6 years. I never looked back after switching to braid.
  18. Regarding my Curado K I'm with you. If there's zero wind I can rock it, but as soon as there is a touch of wind it's pretty tough to cast with the spool totally free. My Mageforce Z Daiwa reel no issues.
  19. I think it’s those cheap rods causing all his problems. Seems he needs some better rods!
  20. How many of you set you casting reels with enough side to side play that you hear the "knock"?
  21. Nope. I would stick with the LT. Unless you are a saltwater fisherman too.
