Go to bait for Creek smallmouth
07 and 08 original Rapala, size 1 and 2 Mepps aglia, small poppers, small Flukes, and 4” weightless worms. All great baits, stream smallies can be pretty aggressive.

Small mepps size 1 and 2, 07 and 09 Rapalas, small poppers, and mini crankbaits. Basically all small Lures.

I know that rod. It's an excellent ned rig rod, but also great for any really light line finesse stuff. It would also be an excellent panfish/trout rod. It's pretty much how it's labeled, it's light plus a little more oomph but not much.

Dobyns 704 or 734
Either rod is cool for an all around rod. I would go up to the Fury line though. They are very nice for the small amount of $ more that they cost.

Bait binder...for terminal tackle.
Ever see these shallow Plano boxes. They are perfect for terminal tackle. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Plano_Pro_Latch_Utility_Box_3601/descpage-P3601.html

How is your Curado K holding up?
Another thread gone a stray. This thread the OP asked how Curado K's are holding up, not if an SLX casts farther. What is all the obsession with casting 4' father anyway?

How to Fish Shallow Docks
Shallow docks and 1/8-3/16oz jigs and weightless worms are an excellent combination.

Ultralight casting set up
Kuying Teton are excellent rods. Not just for the low cost, they are really nice rods. All that I have are well put together, with great Fuji components. I have three different Teton rods and all are great rods. Really sensitive and comfortable. TTS662L spinning rod is an amazing ned rig rod for light applications.

Best Budget Fishing Line
McCoy line is fantastic. Super limp and strong. I switched from Trilene XL 14lb to McCoy 15lb a few years ago. I like XL but the McCoy is so much more limp and stronger that I stuck with it. I recommend it. It's way way more easy to manage than Big Game.

Nucanoe pursuit vs frontier 12
Cool. You like it with the motor? Is it pretty comfortable to fish that way? I'm looking into getting one this year.

Rod companies with the best balance?
I agree with @FryDog62 about St Croix rods. I have two Legend bass rods that are amazing but a touch tip heavy. The best balanced rods I've come across have been G Loomis, the new Tatula Bass rods, and Dobyns regardless of which reels are on them.

"Favorite" Rods?
I felt a few in a local store and they felt terrible to me, kind of clunky and unbalanced. They seem cheap to me. I would steer clear. A Dobyns Fury smokes any Favorite rod I've felt.

Expride or Loomis IMX?
The IMX MBR rods are fantastic. They have one of the best tapered blanks ever imho. Excellent rods. I have never fished an expride.

What reel or reel weight to balance? Legend rods
I use both the LT 2000 and LT 3000 with it. The weight is almost the same, the reel line capacity is exactly the same on both reels. The spool on the 3000 is just wider and shallower. I ned rig with 6lb mono with the 2000 and use 15lb braid to leader on the 3000. I love this rod! super comfortable and sensitive.

Serious question: Did Satan invent braided fishing line?
My advice is always to not cast as hard as you have been. When I started mellowing out my casting speed any wind knot issue I would occasionally have went away.

What reel or reel weight to balance? Legend rods
I don't have this exact models but I do have a 6'6" StCroix LTW ML rod with a Tatula LT 3000 and it's a perfect match. Hope that helps a little. The 6'10" would probably be very close to it.
