Cabela's bargain bin on site

Featured Replies

For some reason the Cabela's Bargain Bin on their site has mostly gear that isn't on sale.

As expected, BPS will turn them into the K Mart of outdoors outfitters. No way will BPS allow them to have anything of better quality than you can get from them.

That's a real shame. One of the first things I noticed after the merge was the Tournament ZX line of rods disappeared. It was a line of technique specific bass rods in the $100-or-less range. They have no higher-end line of rods anymore. I don't know what line of BPS rods compares, so I probably wouldn't look to BPS-Cabela's for another one when and if I buy one.

Used to be a great place to get off season items. Since BPS has taken over I have noticed few items in there at any big discount..

I’ve noticed too,  but realized it’s because the models that had a sale price are now sold out.  For whatever reason they haven’t removed the lines from the bargain cave.

If something is on sale for 20% off it is usually at least 30% too high to begin with. This is another aspect of Johnny Morris marketing.

I just checked. Out of 185 items in the fishing/boating section of the bargain cave, only 6 were not listed as sale prices.

In the bargain cave there are 244 items in the soft plastic section alone. Only a handful are listed at sale price. Your looking at the “new this week “ section. I’m talking about the “bargain cave” section under fishing.
