Congrats to John Murray on his win! There's a good lesson there, I think. Sometimes you have to listen to reason and leave the area you THOUGHT you were going to catch them in and find something else when that pattern doesn't pan out. I am SO guilty of beating the water to death and not catching because of a preconceived notion.
Does anybody else suspect the difficulty many are having finding the fish they typically find this year could be due to the fact the lake is so atypical this year? The lake has been several feet below pool level for months now when it usually is well above pool level in late winter and spring. What works when the water is high naturally won't be as effective when it is low. Especially when it comes to bass wanting to move to shallow (vulnerable) water, which now lacks the cover they usually seek. Does thia make sense or am i way off base. Just my 2 cents.
