Looking for suggestions on the best deep crankbaits out there. I have the rapala DT series in diff. depths, and I just got 2 Norman DD22's. Any other notable deep cranks worth giving a shot?
Anyone use/have used this rod? I'm thinking about getting one and would appreciate any input. Also what model would you recommend (i was thinking a 7' medium). I will mainly be fishing lakes using deep crankbaits. The rod is $50 and feels pretty good, just want to get opinions before I get one.
Thanks...
Now were talkin!!! JoMatty hit it on the head when he mentioned the "do nothing"approach. This is a great presentation in lakes or rivers for smallies. The subtle action of the senko style baits drives the smallies crazy. The toughest part is knowing when you get bit, and setting the hook before the fish has a chance to swallow the bait. You will deep hook fish w/ this method :-/...you have to watch your line carefully for movement. You can start off by crimping your barbs untill you get the hang of it.
**Great to see a smallie board on here!!!**
Thanks for the info. How do you connect the wooden frame to the aluminum of the boat? Also, on a boat like that, how do you mount the front trolling motor?
HPBB: For the aluminum angle frame....how do you attach to the boat, weld it?
Thanks Again
I am thinking of doing some modifications to a 16x48 jon boat. Are there any must do's or must don'ts I should know about before I get started? I just basically want to make a deck in the front with some compartments underneath, and a deck to cover the back battery area. Any info on what materials work best would be greatly appreciated as well!
