Any one seen any places advertising a good deal on extra free time to actually go fishing? Heck, I'd even pay full price if I could get it.

No bait monkey for me......yet. Walked in one of my local shops yesterday - huge place, well stocked, looking for a casting rod for my 8 yo kiddo - I want to keep it somewhat short for him - Berkley Cherrywood or Daiwa Lagunas @ 6' in a Medium & a MH will likely get the nod. I also needed a rod sock to stealth a newer setup in the storage rack. then I looked at the reel display......Oh, you have the new Tatula Elites....those look nice. I didn't ask, but the guy handed me the casting model. I sat there chatting while steadily playing with this thing. About a minute into it, I realized just how smooth that reel was. Daiwa CT-R is the most I've sprung for a reel - but this one might have just changed my mind. I walked out empty-handed, but I'm really hoping I've been good this year.

I think that it's just the items they have in their online shop - https://zoombait.com/shop. Apparel, stickers, etc. For the bait, you can follow their affiliate purchase links at the bottom of their page, once that respective store's sale kicks off.

You talking like in the Chronarch/Metanium/Steez/Zillion level of high end? Yeah - but there are deals to be had - might have to wait for a 20% off sale at one of the bigger online places, TW,ALF, Sportsman Outfitters. Many times even if their discount code isn't "supposed" to work with some of those brands, a call to Customer Service playing dumb will get it done.

Good luck - I'm taking this one back to the store @ lunch today. My store is usually spectacularly poorly stocked on decent rods or reels, so I expect I won't be exchanging it for anything. They've carried some Dobyns fury models before - maybe if they have a 735 I'll take that as a tradeoff - I have one already that I keep a 4" Keitech or similar on.

And the 50% ratio held true. The Frog rod showed up missing the last 4" of the tip, and the box looks like it had been opened up at some point due to a bare minimum of tape. No more in stock, so the CS guy says I can return it to the local store and see if they have anything I'm interested in or for a refund. guess I'll settle for that Tatula XT 7'4" H frog rod from one of the local shops.

Yeah, but the options usually are that they can 1) replace it with another or 2) refund. They show no interest in changing their policy. This is typical of stores that fulfill their online orders from the shelves of their individual stores and not from a central Warehouse or 3. The problem with the option to replace has been that by the time I get a damaged rod that was on a flash sale or final markdown or something it is out of stock or back to regular price. Sometimes the price change causes issues with a straight replacement. If they wanted to fix the problem, they'd have fixed it already.

My last one was a 7'4” KVD heavy cranking rod, and it showed up in 3 pieces.

Well, I'm up to my 50% success ratio - the 7' cranking rod showed up on my doorstep just now in one piece. Same crappy Dick's packaging - bare rod, no wrapping/cushioning, big single wall thin cardboard box. I guess the short 1-day trip from Mobile, AL up to North Louisiana wasn't enough time for the shipping gorillas to get ahold of it. I haven't gotten shipping notice on the frog rod yet. Fingers crossed.

Ok- the I've been really strong against the baitmonkey the last couple of months - and I have about a 50% success ratio ordering rods from Dicks. But I'm a Daiwa fanboy, and I've wanted to try a nice glass cranking rod, and was just looking at the Tatula XT 7'4" as a frog rod for about the same money as this one. Uggggggggh. Here we go on the Roller-Coaster again. In for one of each. *edit* didnt even notice that today's online only $10 off every $50 you spend applied too. It maxed out at $30 - but I'm out the door with one of each for $190 including tax. That's less than $100/rod. Sheesh.

Unfortunately OOS in all RH models (when viewed on a mobile device - on a PC it doesn't indicate stock when you make a selection - odd). $69 shipped for the Fuego CT is a nice deal.

Think of ebay more like a pawn shop when it comes to used goods. Pawn shops collect sales tax on the used items you buy.

Yes, as is the norm with used retail sales most everywhere.

Now, just gotta pray it gets to you in one piece. Dicks rod shipping has been horrific in the past for me. May the odds be ever in your favor.

If someone isn't willing to drop $50 on tackle to get the discount, I seriously have to question if they're really 'bout this baitmonkey life.

I've heard that some places "exclude" them, but when, ordered the discount still gets applied. HA BAITMONKEY I WIN!!!!!!!?! I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF ORDERING A REEL FROM KTP WHEN THE FLASH SALE CODE EXPIRED! (well except for that $100 order from Rapala earlier that I had no intention of making earlier today. d**n stackable codes almost equaled 50% off, and I've been knocking them out on jerkbaits lately.)

You might want to check the codes you entered - I just placed an order @ 7:39pm CST and it all added up to $53 bucks off of a $95 order (Including the $11 off for shipping). You know - there may be an issue with THANKS10 - now that I think of it, it was sent to me when I created an account on their site yesterday. It might only be activated for those with new accounts - like it's loaded into your account somehow. I can't apply it to a new shopping cart now that I've already used it on an order in my account. But, all the other codes still stack and are active. Create an account if you don't have one, and you'll probably get the code for signing up. Otherwise, never hurts to have more than one account, does it?

What's worse is.......I actually don't think I need any jerkbaits right now. Landed a lot of fish on a shadowrap shad in the halloween scheme this past weekend. I seem to always have that thing tied on. Handful of new megabass vision 110's and I keep on throwing the rapala.

Rapala has husky jerks marked down 20%, and their LS hooded shirts 25% then you can stack 15RAPALA, FISH10, THANKS10 and FREESHIP49 to stack 15%+10%+10%, and free shipping over $49. https://www.rapala.com/rapala/sale/

Ugggh - I didn't *need* a deep cranking setup. But a local shop had all their Veritas rods marked down to $75 - so I *had* to grab their last 7'6" winch after my Dick's shipping fiasco last week. Now I was planning on swapping a reel off of another cranking setup - but sheesh, maybe I *need* a new reel to make that a complete cranking setup. Lews LFS in 5.6:1 @ $75 is tempting.
