  1. I caught my first fish today! It was so exciting! We were on the chattahoochee river and found the beetle spin was a favorite of the panfish, and I ended up catching my first fish! My boyfriend caught a bluegill and a yellow perch. I'm not sure if what I caught was a largemouth or maybe a spotted bass. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Does anyone have any suggestions for night fishing at allatoona without a boat?
  3. Does one really need a baitcaster? I'm sort of afraid to drop money on one as a beginner because I've heard it's tricky in dealing with backlash. I prefer spinners or spincasts, but would I be able to do a topwater lure, spinnerbaits or drop shots with one?
  4. I'm new to fishing. Well, kind of. I grew up fishing with my dad, but I don't have any memories of catching anything. So I probably didn't catch anything, because I'm sure I would remember it! Well, this past weekend, we met up with him and decided to go fishing at the Aiken SC State Park. Saw some fish, but didn't catch anything. So, I'm really interested in fishing now, and was hoping to get out on Saturday with some friends. I'm just totally clueless on where to go around Atlanta. I know about Lake Allatoona, and Lake Lanier. We'll just be bank fishing anyway, until I catch some fish and decide I'm ready for a boat. Also, I'm interested in the Ugly Stik GX2 Lady's spinning combo to start out with. I figured it's a middle ground set which will help get me off on the right foot. Other than that, I was born and raised in SC until we moved to Marietta about 3 years ago. We're really into Halloween stuff and I run a t-shirt and collectible company for horror film inspired art and things. Any advice for a beginner would be great! I'm really excited to try my first texas rig!!!
