  1. I didn’t get it. I’m still interested in one though.
  2. Anyone fished this new model yet?
  3. I have owned a Megabass Ronin, their spinning rod designed for jerk baits. I prefer a little longer rod since I throw various light finesse stuff on it. I throw regular Vision 110’s on an Expride 6’10 M, but I prefer to throw the 110 jr’s on a spinning rod. Which Destroyer spinning rod would you recommend?
  4. I’m afraid the Whippet would be too short for getting good distance out of the little swimbaits and Okishira heads. I’m still leaning towards trying a Baby Plugging…
  5. What would you say is the upper limit this rod will comfortably throw? It would be my do it all light finesse rod. Drop shot, Okishira/spark shads, tiny underspins, neds, etc? I would also use it to throw micro cranks and smaller jerkbaits up to to Vision 110 Jr. Is this the rod for those techniques?
  6. Anybody have an feedback on this rod?
  7. Sounds like a good bait when the bite is tough.
  8. I fished the Black Label Wreck (River Bream and Gizzard Foil) this year and caught a ton of fish on it. I might pick up a downsized offering. Which is better? The Peanut or the Wreck Jr?
  9. I use both the Supercast and Silky in the gray color.
  10. I actually ordered a 901s. When it came in, it was little too whippy for me. ALF is letting me trade it out for a 902s. It won’t be available until the end of January though. That got me thinking about the 872s.
  11. I only carry two spinning rods. One is a 852s and is used for strictly bottom contact. The other spinning rod (currently Expride B 7'2ML) is used as a multipurpose rod. I very often have a 1/8 underspin or Okishira head tied on. It is also used for Neds, drop shots, hair jigs and anything else finesse. What is the lightest weight the 872s will effectively handle? Will it cast the 1/8 stuff reasonably well? I am considering a 902s as well. Not considering other brands.
  12. 43 Hitena braid is what I use on my Antares. Best braid I have used.
  13. A rubber skirt is going to produce more flair and will pulsate when moving slowly or sitting on the bottom. When it comes to coaxing a bass when the jig bite isn't as strong, I like rubber. A nice compromise that gives you the flair and movement would be jig that combines living rubber with silicone. The silicone will give you some better color choices. I am a jig finishing fanatic and I will say that my biggest fish have all come on a rubber skirted jig (specifically a TNT jig).
  14. Good thought. I do have an Aldebaran/Expride 6’10 combo and love it. Having gone full BFS though. I have a lot of casting combos and only carry two spinning rods. NRX+ 852s and a ML. I think I am going to try a 902s. That should be a versatile rod. I ended up ordering a 901s and will be returning it. It is too whippy for me.
  15. The only dissatisfaction with the Expride would be the casting distance with really light lures.
  16. I am currently using an Expride 6’10 ML as my “do it all” finesse rod. I don’t fish the drop shot or Ned rig much any more. I more often than not have a 1/8 ounce Coolbaits underspin or 1/16 Okishira head w/Spark Shad tied on. I want one rod for all the light stuff. Would the 901 be the best rod to throw the swimbaits, spybaits, little tubes, finesse jerk baits, drop shot and Ned’s?
  17. I have a 845 CBR as my main crank bait rod. I owned a 906CBR, but it was years ago. Is the 906CBR just a longer version of the 845CBR or does it fish a little heavier. I would use it for deep divers like a 6XD, heavier traps, etc.
  18. Is it just me or does the new Vixen not cast that well?
  19. I don’t have the 844c anymore. I just like the 873CRR better.
  20. I am loving the Black Label wreck (especially the River Bream color). I am also using the Hickster. Is there a deeper diving crank that is based off of a WEC?
  21. I fish braid to leader on the 873CRR. Perfect jig set up.
  22. Fantastic review. I also use IMX and NRX+ rods. I like the NRX+ 844c for jigs, but in my opinion, the 873CRR is the best jig and worm rod Loomis makes. If they called it a Football Jig Rod instead of a CRR, I’m convinced it would be their best seller. This rod as well as the MBR rods are very versatile. Congrats on becoming a jig fanatic and thanks again for the feedback.
