  1. Just ordered a bunch of these. $1.00 a piece for a high quality hand tied jig with living rubber, recessed head, and great colors. Thanks for the heads up.
  2. TNT Wadda jigs or M80’s.
  3. I fish jigs a lot and have tried many different line approaches over the years. For me, the best I have found is 42 lb Hitena Supercast braid to 12 or 15 lb Tatsu. The Hitena braid is very thin (.01), yet the breaking strength is stronger than other braids. It also casts extremely well and doesn't dig in. I also like the gray color. One advantage to braid is versatility. I can tie on a 10, 12, 15, 20 pound leader depending on the application. With flouro or mono, you are locked into one size. Maybe I would get a few more bites with straight flouro (not sure of that), but IMO the advantages of braid to leader outweigh the cons. I understand the additional knot as a failure point, but a well tied FG knot never breaks. Braid is also much cheaper in the long run.
  4. I am considering the 852s. How does it do skipping a 5 inch wacky rigged Senko?
  5. I have the NRX+ 873 CRR. I also had the older version. The 873 is the perfect 3/8-1/2 jig rod. I like new version much better. The balance is better and the reel seat is more comfortable. I hate the hook keeper, but I can live with it. It is extremely sensitive. It also is sturdier due to the spiral wrapping. As far as availability, they are very hard to find. I was not able to my usual discount. If you are interested, I do have a warranty replacement NRX+ 873 CRR coming (hopefully in November).
  6. This is an easy one. Expride 6’10. Prefect jerk bait rod. If you pair it with an Aldebaran, it will like become your favorite setup.
  7. The responses are sort of confirming my thoughts and problem. About half a 3 power, half a 4 power. I should have been clearer in my original post about the fact the with my warranty claim being on a NRX, I need to stick with a NRX. I am leaning towards a 903C or 904c.
  8. I have a warranty claim in with G. Loomis on a 873 CRR. It will be a while before I can get it. In the interim, I picked up a new NRX+ 873CRR as my primary jig and worm rod. I will likely replace my 7’3 Poison Adrena with the warranty rod. This rod is my do-it-all rod. I throw everything from underspins, scroungers, t-rigs, swing heads, flashy swimmers, spinnerbaits, etc. My question is, if you could have only one Loomis rod, what would it be? 843? 844? 903? 904?
  9. I have the NRX+872s and I am very pleased with it. It would be perfect for the applications you describe. It may be that there isn't much availability and not a lot of guys are using the new NRX+'s yet, but I would like to hear more feedback.
  10. The perfect rod for your application is a Poison Adrena 7’4 H. If could pick up a used one at a good price, that would be ideal. The rod is extremely light and balances well. The regular fast action is perfect for throwing the baits you mention (and lots of other things).
  11. I already have a 873CRR as my main jig and worm rod. I am torn between getting a 843C or 844C to replace the Adrena. I would throw everything from 1/4 underpins, dark sleepers, 1/2 spinnerbaits, etc. I need this rod to be my most versatile one.
  12. I have an Adrena 7'3 MH that is my "do it all" rod. It works great for most things, but I am thinking it is a little too slow for things like T-Rigs with the Regular Fast taper. Do you think I would be better off with a 843C?
  13. What makes this particular color always a hot one in the summer time?
  14. I am starting to wonder if I should have stuck with a Loomis 842s instead of the 872s…
  15. I am getting a new 106SV installed tomorrow I currently have a Helix with the transducer mounted on the trolling motor. The new Garmin is phase one of a move towards Livescope somewhere down the road? Should I mount the 106’s transducer on the transom. It is a 16 ft Riverhawk and is the only electronics on the boat. I don’t do much vertical “video game” fishing.
  16. I bought a used 822 DSR a few years ago and it was worse than this one. It did bug me. I used a black sharpie to touch up the blemishes. They were still there, but not nearly as noticeable.
  17. I sold 7 ft MF spinning rod to and replaced it with a 7’3 M Extra Fast. I was pretty proficient at skipping with the 7 footer. The extra length of the 872s makes skipping a little more challenging. I can still do it, just not as well. Will I get better with practice or is a 7'3 rod simply too long for skipping?
  18. I know these rods are hard to get, but I would be interested to hear some feedback from those who have them.
  19. Could go with a Bantam. It balances well and feels right on this rod. It should easily handle the 1-1.5 ounce weights.
  20. I agree with many if these posts regarding the up image quality. I was expecting it to be better than Garmin. My fever has cooled. Now I’m wondering if there is any chance Garmin refreshes the Panoptix this year…
  21. I got my new NRX+ 872s. Looks great paired with an Exscence and Diawa J-Braid Grand. The rod balances exceptionally well for a 7'3. I can't wait to get it out on the water this weekend...
  22. I sold my NRX822 DSR because I want a longer rod. I tend to cast out vs drop shot vertically. I prefer to stay in the Loomis family. A friend mentioned GLX 892s. Any recommendations?
