This is a great description for the issues I had with flouro when pitching. It would just unravel a bit off the spool and drive me nuts. My first time trying flouro and it didn’t take long to just go back to braid and a leader. I’m still curious to maybe try a different brand or give it another shot one day

Completely agree with you. The different techniques and styles is what keeps me interested. Put me on a fishing trip where it’s trolling for salmon etc and I’m bored out of my mind.

https://m.imgur.com/19gDEQI I used the 3M command hook style things for my rod holder. Holding great, no holes. I wired in the same plugs front and back as I’m trying to decide where I like the motor more. And also figured out the best way to load/unload from the truck. I use rope or bungee cords on the front handles, while standing in the truck bed, and I can easily lower into the water, or pull up from the water and it doesn’t get dragged at all. Like someone else said I was surprised how easily the bottom got gouged, it makes me wonder if the newer models are softer on the bottom than the older generation. Loving the boat!

Just got mine a few weeks ago. Has anyone applied anything to the bottom to prevent it from getting destroyed on boat ramps etc? I try to avoid dragging it but it’s much harder to get into the truck bed from the water, and if I could nudge it up on the ramp a little it’s easy. Edit: was thinking of maybe a little spray on bed liner type of stuff just in one area where the dragging would be. Maybe even the paint on rubber stuff

Well that could very well be why I had to mod my air pressure gauge to work with it, mine look exactly the same but maybe there's slight differences. There was a nice difference with float height and speed when fully inflated (2.5psi for mine)

Welcome to the pontoon world! Yes a hand pump will fill the pontoons when the valve is in the closed position, it looks like he valves are Halkey-Roberts (HR) valves. They're simple mechanisms but work well. You can buy an air pressure gauge for them (search using the valve name) but due to slight differences sometimes you have to get creative to make a gauge work. For my gauge I simply replaced the rubber grommet with a thinner o-ring as it didn't go deep enough to open the valve. I can post a picture after work. I bought my pontoon used and it gets folded up into my car after each use, never clean or dry it. They're great cheap vessels
