  1. I've used the Fuego CT this year and I would highly recommend it. You can usually find it around $79. Easy to setup and casts well. After I bought one I had to order another one. I don't think you can go wrong with the Fuego CT.
  2. I tried a Quantam reel some years ago, it didn't last one season. I now mainly have Daiwa & Shimano reels, my reels are about 10 years old still working great.
  3. I bought one of the Bass X, I didn't like it. It felt tip heavy to me so I returned it. I ended up buying a Lamiglas XP 704C XP Bass Series rigged with a Fuego CT. If you want a nice rod for a discount deal that is currently on sale for $79 with free shipping. I would highly recommend it. https://www.lamiglas.com/collections/xp-bass
  4. My original Costa's that I bought many years ago have worked great. If I remember correctly they were under $150 at the time when I bought them. The lens on the first pair I owned were discoloring over many years of use. I contacted Costa and I just had to ship them in and they shipped me a new pair & case for warranty replacement. I would suggest buy a good pair that you can afford and give you the best fitment, protection you can reasonably afford.
  5. I have a Sierra SA 703C and a Fury FR 705CB, I've been happy with both of them. I did save $40.00 on my Sierra rod, so every now and then you can find some good deals online.
  6. I caught them on rocks mostly yesterday and a few along the logs, best fish was 19". Ended up with 15 fish.
  7. I have Daiwa & Shimano reels, I like both of them. I have more Diawa reels than Shimano. I like the ease of adjustment on Daiwa's. But that is not a big determining factor for me. Most of my equipment isn't new but I take care of my equipment and service them myself. I'd say compare each one in hand and see which one you like/prefer.
  8. Hello everyone, I was able to get out on the water and fishing again last year. I had brain surgery for 50-60% tumor removal in 2015. So I have been down and out of fishing for almost 2 years. I was able to get out on the water a few times in 2017. I have been able to get out on the water much more this year, it feels good to be able to just go fishing whenever I have the time and now have the ability to drive by myself. I even caught a master angler in September so that felt amazing. Hope everyone has a amazing holidays season and look forward to the spring fishing start!
