  1. Hell, one spot I fish that all I can catch fish on. The weeds are so thick it's near impossible to get any other lure through it let alone catch anything in them. Of course it doesn't help that a frog is about the only lure the bass will hit. Plus you have the pickerel to worry about, they like biting through your line and swimming off with lures.
  2. Well, where to start. Parents who let their rotten kids run rampant like a flea infestation. Rotten parents who can't treat their kids with some decency. Weeds, trees, snags, trash, ignorance in abundance. There are a lot of things that irritate me and having bipolar disorder justakes it that much harder. But I think my biggest peeve while fishing is when I'm using some kind of bait instead of soft plastics, and upon casting I get backlash and my bait gets flung off or something on the water eat my bait and not the hook. I MEAN REALLY, COME ON! How hard is it to bite a hook and hold on? Lol.
  3. How in the..? Never mind, I completely understand. I try casting with my left hand and I'm liable to hook myself in the backside if things go right. God forbid they go wrong.
  4. I've always been right handed and being ambidextrous is a joke for me. But I always use a lefty crank reel no matter what style. My baitcaster; lefty. Both spinning reels; lefty once again. I just can't hold a rod in my left and reel with my right, it feels unnatural and just plain wrong to do. But that's just me.
  5. You know, not all of us are like that. Some of us actually have manners. It's mostly the northerners that are so ignorant of things like etiquette.
  6. Yep. Catxh with honey, if they don't listen save the stick for beating them.
  7. Ain't that the truth.
  8. Finally got it posted, even if it is sideways.
  9. I have some pearl white flukes and so far the most bites I got on them was at night.
  10. Won't do it because my photos aren't jpeg.
  11. Caught a nice bass before work today. Midday, sunny and partly cloudy, topwater frog. 14.5" and under a pound. Sadly I can't post a photo in this post as I get the message that it's to large of a file. It will be on my profile though.
  12. As of this year I'm specifically targeting LMB as last 2 years was targeting big trout. As for what I want them to do, we'll isn't that obvious? I want them to catch fish. Once place I go, it's topwater heavy as that's what they like to hit most often. Plus it has heavy grass to contend with when using anything under the surface.
  13. This pone is fairly large. Depth I'm unsure of but they prefer hitting topwater over most other lures.
  14. As a matter of fact, I have. To be exact, I have thrown senkos before and I have never even so much as got a nibble. Black and blue, solid black, green and white swirl; so far all my senkos do it take up space in my soft plastics pouch. Here there I still throw one out just to see if anything wants one but most of the time, I just end up wasting time. My guess, bass round here just arent that into them.
  15. Had some luck with flukes last night. Went out late evening, first couple cast in the main pond produced a pickerel that I didn't even get to hook into. Was jerking a pearl white fluke through the water, saw a long greenish flash hit my lure, went to set the hook and there was no hook or lure. Bit clean through 20lb braid like a hot knife through melted butter. I was very unhappy with that pickerel.
  16. The GM is going out of business and I didn't even think of them. Good to point that out as I had completely forgot they had a fishing section. As per independent tackle shop, I haven't noticed any at all and I've lived here just about my entire life give or take about 5 years. I'll have Google it. If you know any off hand give me a shout. Also if you're around the area then come on by, could always use a fishin buddy.
  17. I have plenty of top water already. Definitely gonna get more soft plastics, need a buzzbait and some spinners. Might get the wacky rig tool but I'd have to get the finesse hooks to and round here they ain't easy to find.
  18. So this friday, I'm gonna get paid from work and I'm gonna go hit the tackle aisle in my local walmart. I don't have a big budget for tackle, not to mention my local WM isn't exactly stocked well with tackle options. I figured yall could give me some suggestions on what to grab if they have it. I know some things I plan to grab but it's always good to see what other people think could be useful. So let me know what you think I should grab. Also might hit Dicks sporting goods as they have a better selection, but at a higher cost compared to Walmart.
  19. I didn't even get a single strike. It is of course a golf course pond so it's not exactly secluded. But even so, if it's heavily fished, I should get strikes from, at least, the little guys and the pickerel. Even a lipless crank couldn't elicit a strike. I think the fish around here like live bait above everything else unless it's by lily pads and there's none in that pond.
  20. I was specifically fishing heavy grass, most of it several feet thick (depth wise). I had lures in the grass, above the grass, through the grass, at the edges. Senkos, flukes, top water, jig, even weighted Texas rigged curly tail worm. Of course it is a golf course pond so it's not exactly secluded. I'm fairly certain it's heavily fished. Plus there are bluegill and pickerel, catfish and snappin turtles. Not sure what else but I should have hooked into something but not even a definitive strike. It's agitating.
  21. Did both of these styles minus the owner twistlock hook as I don't own any. Baitfish were active and I fished it slow, fast, in between. Nothing bites around here and I'm starting to wonder if these bass are either really smart, really stupid, or just to darn lazy.
  22. Now I'm getting skunked again. Two days of fishing with only one strike and no hook ups. Either the bass here are smarter than everywhere else, or I'm doing something wrong. Not to mentire I've tried all I can, top water, rattle trap, Texas rig several different soft plastics, spinners, only thing I haven't tried is live bait and that's not available around here except for earthworms.
  23. Great tips. I'll definitely be using them sometime today when I finish working on the car and mowing. God I hate adulthood. Lol.
  24. Thanks for the link, I'll have to try the double fluke method and see if that works. Might be more productive around here.
  25. Liking the tips so far. Definitely gonna have to try some of these rigging styles.
