A 3.8-4.3 keitech on a open hook jig head , a spinnerbait , crankbait for shallow and medium depth. Any fast action power technique honestly, my go tos though are usually a swimbait/swim jig, spinnerbait or chatterbait.

I’m looking to buy those safety ice grip things you wear around the neck Incase you fall in. Not sure what they are called so any help would be nice. Looking for decent ones just to be safe.

I have yet to catch anything on a crankbait.. deep , medium Or shallow. I have used lipless baits and jerkbaits with a lot of success but nothing else. That is my 2020 resolution for fishing. To get better at cranking.

June bug is amazing in NY where I am.. they eat junebug more than black and blue, they both have time and place but I throw junebug colors more than black and blue most of the time.. or a black light as some companies call it where it’s the junebug color with some black to it

No it should be fine, fish are pretty resilient to be honest, they can handle some tough stuff.. I seen fish with chunks missing from there whole body and swimming fine. Should be ok

Can’t say it was a smallmouth but the weirdest or craziest was probably a bird. I caught a largemouth with a weird looking belly and a black feather sticking out of its throat.. upon Further inspection yes, the bass indeed swallowed a whole bird ..

Thanks , that is what I’m wondering but how is it compared to the jerkbait special.. ugh such decisions! Lol. But I was worried it would be to stiff and rip out of the fishes mouth so that’s good to know. My rod now is too stiff I think or heavy and does load well

So I’m looking to get a designated jerkbait rod and I narrowed it down to about 3.. wondering if anyone uses this rod for jerkbaits and how do you feel about it? 6 ft 10 inch medium Expride A casting rod. It’s between this and the megabass orochi jerkbait special or the alpha angler slayer. Any input would be appreciated.

Doesn’t the DC get heavy when using jerkbaits though? Fishing 8-10 hour days over and over ? Or have trouble using them or it’s really worth it. Can you really fast it into the wind and not worry?

Does it really work that well? I have smaller hands so I found the reels are big .. I usually use lews tournament pro reels Bc they are small and fit right into my palm.. how good are the DC and aren’t they heavy to be using jerkbaits all day?

Do you feel using braid with lewder ever hinders the performance ? Or maybe get less strikes ?? Than say straight fluoro

Yes! I remmeber you posting the alpha rods before but couldn’t find it , now my question is when your using spinning tackle , do you find it hard to keep a faster cadence because the ratio is slower? How difficult would it be for me to go from mainly casting to using spinning as far as feeling awkward ?
