  1. Hi, I’m visiting for a few days on turkey foot lake in Ohio. I’ve had some luck with a wacky rigged senko in some of the small creeks. I’m Fishing on foot and have access to a kayak. Can I get some tips for fishing this lake?
  2. Use the Zman T.R.D, and use the right color, they are buoyant and are out of this world better than the other brand stuff for ned rigs
  3. Spin, I fish a ton more saltwater so it’s what I’m used to, I also use bait cast a bit, and a little fly
  4. Well.... I’ve caught it all with the ned rig, 7lb largemouth, snook, and I just got my first pike and a 25 lb carp on the ned rig! I am absolutely amazed with this thing! Here’s the carp! What have you guys caught with it?
  5. Gotta love livin in Florida, catch bass, tarpon, and snook out of the same body of water
  6. I ended up ordering the lews Mach 1 combo, the reel has a 7.1:1 ratio. I also want to use it in Saltwater, how would you guys recommend cleaning it for after Saltwater.
  7. Also looking at the Mach slp combo
  8. Resurrecting the thread: how would the Lewis laser be for the chugging spook? It is a 6'10 Mh rod, the reel has a 7.1:1 gear ratio only a 100$ I can also also get it as a 7'0 rod with a 6.4:1 ratio
  9. What are some good alternatives
  10. If it's close to Saltwater, good chance there is tarpon. We catch them a lot down here from landlocked ponds and canals. They travel through the pipes I think
  11. Sort of off topic: how when I just fish a wacky rig senko I just get dinks but with the spook I just hook up with big ones?
  12. Starting to think since I fish this lure salt water to, that the hooks are somewhat rusted they are not hook as good?
  13. Alright happened again fish jumped went back down and next thing I knew I was just reeling in the lure. Saw it head shake and it was big. Am I the only one that gets this heavy feeling after losing big fish?
  14. Idea: after missing one should I follow up with a senko or nedrig?
  15. Okay so when they hit it let it sit and they will come back
  16. Update: just got back, I had a few explosions on the spook, only one managed to actually hit the hook which I failed to hook. I noticed that when I get a hit with this I tend to just reel, do I have to set the hook hard with this lure?
  17. Alright looking at budget baitcaster and rod combos, Any suggestions? One that's good for spooks? trying to keep it around 100-130$
  18. Zman paddlers and jig headz. Also Spro buck tail for snook.
  19. Well for now is my rod fine until I can afford a new baitcast combo?
  20. My reel will only handle 12 lb of mono and the rod is spin rod not baitcast. Would it be heavy with the line and lure ratings it says. The hooks are on split rings. Look I look at getting a heavy baitcaster combo?
  21. The rod: pinnacle platinum plus im6 7'0 line wt.10-20 lb. lure wt.: 1/2 to 1 1/2 oz doesnt say if it's a medium or not I was thinking of another 7'0 rod that's a medium
  22. The first one was maybe 5 or 6 pounds, I fought it for a while then it jumped and threw. Could that have been the result of a bad hook set? I also look at the rod again. It's not a med. light rod, it's just medium
  23. Same I lost probably my pb yesterday. Same happening on Ned rigs, I got an 8 pounder on it and have lost multiple ones close to that size since
  24. Okay with the spooks I'm afraid I'm going to pull it right out of there mouths. What would you guys recommend st-36 or st-41?
  25. Shimano ultegra 4K on 7 ft medium light spin rod, 12lb mono. the drag was set fairly tight(not locked down). The 3rd one was the one that really pulled and was biggest when it came up and shook its head
