What are a few must have lures for bass...
Strike King squarebill (I use 1.5 ounce) Rapala Ultralight Crank ( this is a newer model and a little small but weighted like something 2 - 3 times its size) Rapala DT ( another newer model by Rapala, "DT" stands for 'down to', so you can get them to dive down to specific depths) Blue Fox Vibrax ( I used the minnow pattern on the spinner it's a killer)

Latest backlash pics thread
My apologies, don't mean to go off topic, but I've read that a lot recently about "balancing your rod, reel. etc.". Just curious how you do this?

Greetings from the Great Lakes
Hi everyone. I haven't been fishing in a while and I started again this year. Below are just a few of my catches so far (I have most of them laid out next to my foot, which is a size 13). The stripe was the first one I ever caught in this area, and the catfish I caught on a Rapala FatRap (crawdad colored). Never caught a catfish on a crankbait before so that was exciting. I use a Okuma FINA spinning reel on a Field & Stream 6' 6" Tech-Spec rod. PowerPro line on the reel. Fish mostly crankbaits and a few spinners (BlueFox Vibrax minnow pattern is my favorite). I don't have anyone around my area that I can relate to about fishing so that's why I joined this forum.

Question on Power Pro
I got some new line (PowerPro) put on my Okuma Fina when I started fishing this summer and yesterday when I visited the tackle shop the guy told me it was 50lb test. I wasn't even aware they put that big a line on there so I asked the guy what he would recommend instead and he said 10lb should be sufficient. I had him put some PowerPro 10lb on the reel and it was definitely a big difference compared to the 50lb. I have to say I'm a big fan of the braided line. I only ever used monofilament my whole fishing life. The braided line is great that it doesn't twist or get all tangled. My question then is this. I have the Okuma on a Field & Stream Tech-Spec rod (6' 6") medium fast action. Is the 10lb a good choice for bass fishing? I'm just wondering now if I shouldn't had the guy put something heavier on there.

KVD 1.5 Square Bill - Really?
I'm getting a couple of these (1.5 ounce shad, black back chart, etc.) to try out in my fishing spots. Got a lot of rocks and I read these are great for fishing around rocky areas.

Question: Dual Lock Snap Sizes?
So if I want a smaller snap than the 3 I would look for a 4 and so on? They only had size 3 at Dick's so I suppose seeing some more else where would answer that question, lol.

Question: Dual Lock Snap Sizes?
I just joined the forum (after much searching for the sign up form). My apologies for not having anything filled out in my profile, but clicking on my username at the top of the page just takes me to the home page ... o_O I think the problem is that the logo/name up in the header is too large and overlaps your username, so when you go to click on your username your clicking the "home" link in the logo. Anyway, I have a question. I bought some Eagle Claw dual lock snaps and these seem to work better than the other ones I was using (they're easier to open and close). These are a size 3, but I could use a size smaller. How do the sizes go? Is it bigger numbers mean smaller sizes, and vice versa? So if I wanted a size smaller than a 3 I would look for a size 4, etc.?
