  1. @Corkpuller agreed! I see the same thing in the back of Housen (where there are no boat lanes) on a regular basis - folks running 60+ over flooded timber while I am rolling over stumps at idle. I have come to the following conclusions: 1. They know Housen much better than I do. 2. They have no idea what is lurking just beneath the surface. 3. They are tired of paying the boat note, have it well insured and are willing to risk injury! Headed up this evening with my 13-year-old nephew who will start on a high school team next year. Looking forward to fishing and spending time with him. Y'all have a blessed weekend and stay safe!
  2. @Catt Congratulations! That's fantastic!!
  3. I've been lurking here long enough to feel like I know some of you personally so I figure it's time to make an introduction. My wife and I live in Lumberton and previously spent our weekends beaching it on the Bolivar Peninsula. We enjoyed the beach but dealt with significant hurricane damage from Rita in '05 and Humbero on 09.13.07. One year to the day later (and six months after completing renovations from Humberto), Hurricane Ike hit us on 09.13.08 and left us with nothing more than a few chunks concrete slab. Ike was a blessing in disguise as we finally realized the Good Lord was gently nudging us to the lake! It took a while to recover but we were blessed to finally find a lakefront paradise on Housen back in 2015. Haven't even thought about the beach since and now spend almost every Friday - Sunday on TB. Having entered the sport in 2015, I'm a novice angler (at best). My personal best was just over seven pounds in mid-Housen; haven't come close to that since! I spend most of my time on TB and launch from a little private community ramp. We make occasional trips to Rayburn and spent seven perfect fishing days on Lake Amistad last year. That's about it. Just wanted to say hey and more importantly, to finally take a minute to thank all of you regulars that share your expertise on this forum. I've learned a great deal about TB and about bass fishing in general from y'all! If you see an old, fat, grey-haired guy mid-lake in a red/white Nitro Z20 struggling to tie a knot, good chance that would be me so come say hi... Y'all have a Blessed Weekend! greg
