  1. Funny you should say that, I already have a Curado 200k, no rod though. Probably getting a Dobyns Fury, waiting to get my hands on one to feel the action. I was thinking one setup for everything but now I’m thinking one for everything and one for cranks.
  2. We are talking about a hobby/pastime, it wouldn’t take a whole lot of time and I wouldn’t switch rods constantly. It’s more about saving money than time.
  3. Anyone on a budget have one reel but multiple rods for different techniques? How does it work for you?
  4. Walmart for the quick grabs like plastics, terminal tackle. Dick’s, Cabela’s, Academy, Bass Pro and Sportsman’s Warehouse for specific gear. Sportsman’s Warehouse will probably be my go to for the stuff where the retail price is the same throughout multiple stores, they have great customer service. I don’t buy online because I can’t get my hands on anything, the shipping cost and I don’t know the size of the lures.
  5. Lew’s has Winn handles specifically for their reels but Winn makes covers for reel handles. http://www.winngripsfishing.com/products/grips/reel-grip-sleeves/
  6. The lighter line, the more depth you’ll get out of it. Depending on where you are cranking, I’d go as light as possible but not so light that you have break offs.
  7. I’m not going to do it, just wondered what it was.
  8. I’ve heard good things from Keitech Swing Impact FAT and Savage Gear makes cheaper hard and soft bodied swimbaits.

Heard of it faintly, don’t know what it is and couldn’t find any videos. What is it? The purpose? Yada yada? Thanks
  10. Braid to Fluoro leader for primary fishing then take off the leader? Different spool with different line? Different setup? Just options
  11. The centrifugal brakes(inside) on the Curado, will be your primary while the outside will just be a finer tune, like for wind...etc.
  12. I feel like there are better reels out there for that price, you never know what you’re going to get with those companies. I’d look at Lew’s Laser Pro Speed Spool SLP, $80 on sale at Cabela’s. Cabela’s has quite a few reels on sale at the moment, Daiwa Fuego, Abu Garcia Pro Max, Cabela’s Arachnid. All good reels and around the price point of the Typhoon.
  13. Some people use it for bladed jigs, jerkbaits, spoons, lipless rattletraps, swimbaits, topwater, spinnerbaits, poppers, dropshot, and most lures with treble hooks. The reels I’ve heard great things and are in your price range are the Tatula SV TWS, Curado K, Revo Winch(for deep cranks) and Revo STX.
  14. Do you buy the reel first, rod first, or both at the same time? And why?
  15. It would be good for crankbaits, you could put a reel with a low gear ratio on it. Can’t say a specific reel without a price range.
  16. Finesse setup would be a combo for lighter fishing, drop shot, Ned rig, small plastics. At $200, get a Curado K, wayyy better than a Lew’s at that price point.
  17. Price range? That 7’ MH would suit a Curado K, Tatula TWS SV... You could buy a finesse setup.
  18. The millionaire probably would work
  19. What reel do you have?
  20. Mine does that too, Curado 200 K here. What are you going to use it for?
  21. I don’t know if it would work well with heavier baits because of the graphite frame. Graphite frames will flex under a heavy load, I think you’d be fine but I’d be more concerned about a rod, do you have one that’s rated from 1/2-3 oz? I wouldn’t think you’d be able to throw that weight range on one setup.
  22. I like their lures, strong hooks and split rings, unique actions and profile. Are their rods any good? Worth the price? Anyone gotten to fish or get their hands on one? Any thoughts?
