I have quite a few older green curados, cu200b and cu200b5. I've been through these reels quite a bit, I'm starting to notice a couple of them have a problem that I can't figure out why it happens. I'm thinking it's worn main gear and pinion. Here's what they do, if you spin the reel crank handle and stop it abruptly, (stopping the crank handle) the spool ratchets. The pinion is lifting over the pin on the spool and ratchets. The pinion is supported by the yoke and the yoke is being held down by two springs. My first guess was worn springs and yoke, or possibly clutch cam. Replaced them and still did it. The bottom of the pinion doesn't appear to look worn. I have 12 of these curados and three of them do it pretty bad, even with no line on them. With line they are worse, and I understand why, heavier spool in motion. I have some of these reels and with a full spool they won't do it. So reel gurus what's your opinion??
