One for the mods
Well, first of all, it's just volunteer. : I am in the investment business and sit at a desk with a couple of computers on all day, plus my home computer. I get online when I get up around 4:30 and turn off sometime in the evening, but I'm not really on the site all of that time. The other Moderators and Glenn are on periodically throughout the day and almost always at night. We overlap and fill-in. Glenn does nearly all the heavy lifting, the rest of us help.

Night fishing worm colors advice needed.
The "traditional" answer is black, but I don't think it makes any difference. Size is what counts. Well...besides location and presentation...

August Fishing
Since most fishermen fish shallow water it SEEMS like low light is the best time of day to catch bass. Most of those fish will be "tournament" fish (small). The better fish WILL sometimes come up shallow to feed, but I think they spend most of their life on structure in RELATIVELY deep water, adjacent to even deeper water. My "best time" to catch BIG bass is around the middle of the day.

Knots you use
Here is a little trick to help you learn to tie a new knot: Find some common cotton rope that's not too thick. Tie your knot using a fixed obect, like a chair, where you can watch the animated tying procedure on your computer. Using a rope makes it much easier to see EXACTLY what you are doing. After a couple of practice runs with the rope, tying fishing line is a breeze.

Spoiling for a fight
Though I'm not a moderator and have no say, IMO, I see far more threads that are not debates which repeat the same thing over and over. I think some debates are cut off too soon. I mean this as no disrespect to Glenn or the moderators and I'm sure they know that I accept their decisions. If you agree with your friends on everything, either you, or your friends, are being disingenuous. Am I starting a debate? : Well, I certainly see your point and it's difficult to say "when" is enough. The "general rule" is that when debates become "arguments" the "discussion" is ended. I know it's very subjective, but arguments are not allowed on this Forum. (I don't need any examples of this policy NOT being enforced, it's a gray area.) So, as you can see, there is no easy answer, but we don't take sides and we try to be fair.

Swimbaits for high pressured clear water?
I have had some success with the Baby Bass fishing structure in deep water with a steady retrieve, just fast enough to wiggle the tail. You can try a couple of things regarding initial depth. Sometimes I simply allow the lure to sink all of the way to the bottom before beginning the retrieve; sometimes "about" half way and other times I start reeling as soon as it hits the water. If bass are busting shad in open water, a shallow retrieve seems to be the ticket, but you can't reel too fast or the bait turns on its side. You need to play with it a little in clear, shallow water or a swimming pool to see just how the Baby Bass performs. Also, I initially had problems with hook-up and landing. The key is a quick, hard hookset and MAXIMUM retrieve- you cannot allow ANY slack EVER during the fight.

A couple of questions about spinnerbaits
Welcome aboard! Regarding replacing skirts, if you buy the "packaged product" they come with a little rubber band that fits over a little retaining hump on the leadhead. There is nothing to it.

Big Sluggo's.
Never tried 9", but I am a Slug-Go fan. I think my sizes are 4" & 6", but I honestly don't find them to be much different in terms of production.

Testing a new rod.
So, tell us about the rod.
