  1. This looks like a case of "GUILTY until proven innocent." If what's been charged is true, Vick is through.
  2. "Dead Stick Walking" by Matt Straw. No-motion philosophies for largemouth and smallmouth bass. Just received this month's In-Fisherman (August/ September). If you are not familiar with this technique, be sure to get a hold of the magazine and take a look. If you already employ the presentation, you'll still enjoy the article. "While the tactic is pretty much a do-nothing enterprise, the real key is ultimate location."
  3. Great fish, nice pic! 8-)
  4. Sweet! 8-)
  5. I have the ES70MF which is my soft plastics rig. I think you will like your new rod--A LOT! 8-)
  6. I agree with Brad, but I don't actually fish them alone. I think they make GREAT trailers.

WOW! is right... Nice fish, great pics.
  8. That's a GREAT deal and you will be very pleased with the Symetre.
  9. Wow! Another nice one. #82?
  10. This should help. Be sure to read the referenced threads within this post: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1184602333
  11. Fishing similar conditions I have been having some GREAT luck with the GYCB Kreature on a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook, weightless and weedless. I fish it like a spinnerbait with a steady retrieve and an occasional twitch. Using this presentation, you are fishing the lure near the surface and it will not hang-up. You're still going to get a little gunk now and then, but I think you'll be just fine.
  12. Well, you need to pick up some Kreatures, too. I don't know if you have seen some of my posts over the last several weeks, but I am KILLING them along weedlines in the morning on this bait. I am fishing (mostly) weightless and weedless, working it like a spinnerbait with a steady retrieve and an occasional twitch. Bud has reported the same results on Kentucky Lake fishing it with a light weight. The point is, we are both having much better success at the top of the water column rather than fishing it on the bottom like a tube or Senko.
  13. Man, I consider that a GREAT DAY on Pickwick this time of year! BTW, My partner is guiding and has booked most weekends in October and a couple in November. So, I'm looking for a new partner this fall. I'm specifically looking for someone with a boat, strong trolling motor and a VERY dependable livewell to hold bait. I fish artificials and live bait, catch and release ONLY. I fish the Tennessee River below Pickwick Dam and target TROPHY smallmouth only. I would also be receptive to fishing in Alabama below Wilson Dam. If you (or anyone else reading this post) are interested in a partner to fish most Saturdays this fall and winter, send me a PM. We can arrange single trips or make plans for the season. I will split expenses.
  14. Okay, here's your answer: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180501296/10 Good luck!
  15. ;D ;D ;D HAPPY BIRTHDAY ;D ;D ;D
  16. The only water I don't like is cold and muddy. Clear water is pretty and usually productive, but stained water is much easier to fish. Rolo's comment on 2'-3' visibility fits me pretty well, too.
  17. Gotcha! I don't know anything about those lures. I found the other thread pretty darn interesting since I have never fished the Senko Swimbait either. Maybe someone will post something on the lure you are asking about today.
  18. Welcome aboard! Stella 1000FA, (2) Stella 2500FB, Sustain 2500.
  19. Man, this was hot just yesterday: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1184666308
  20. But this is just fine... 8-) Welcome aboard!
  21. Man, if you had asked me to rank the top 25, a toad would not have made my list. The Gitzit ranks #3 as my most productive lure of all-time, but #1 as the most versatile. A tube can be fished a number of ways and at any level in the water column. Fast, slow, as a jerkbait shallow and most importantly as a "do nothing" bait which legend has it, what it was originally designed to do. Not only is it VERY effective at any depth, utilizing a number of retrieve techniques, the lure can be fished year-around! The Senko and Fat Ika are my top two baits, very versatile and fished year-around in this region, but neither comes close to a tube. Gitzit = Get 'er Done!
  22. Man! That's a GREAT bass! 8-)
  23. Pure BS. First of all, the World Record is 11 lbs 15 oz not 10-14. Secondly, in order to catch a 12 lb smallmouth, a few 10s probably need to be documented in the region over the years. Third, pictures only help CONFIRM possible weights, they are NEVER proof, especially in this day and age. Fourth, even if this guy is no sharper than a marble, he mounted a 25 lb northern which isn't particularly "special" yet decided to eat a smallmouth that he must have known was HUGE for the species. There is nothing credible in this story as far as I can tell. BTW, Welcome aboard! 8-)
