T-Wing question
I'm looking at possibly getting a Tatula CT and see that is has the TWS line guide. only one problem I might have with buying the reel is that I heard from a reviewer that leader knots won't pass through the line guide. have any of your had the same issue or does the reel function well with leader knots passing through the T-wing?

Line spools slightly uneven.
I have 14 lb stren mono to 40 lb pwrpro. I took the reel out with a rod to the ball park and tied line to the tree and respooled the line on after I walked it all off of the spool. I think it is my connection knot causing problems because my worm gear is smooth. could my pawl possibly be loose? it's a little wiggly and I'm not sure if that is normal. I'm thinking of just buying straight power pro. and then spooling it on with no backing. if I tie through the wiffles on the spool will the line slip or will it be fine? yeah it's not the worm gear. I've had this reel since christmas. I think my knot is causing the bump and uneven spool.

Line spools slightly uneven.
reel was on a rod and I didn't use my finger. I'm not sure what's going wrong, could it be my backing to braid knot messing up the spool balance? I used a blood knot to tie mono to braid. which I'm not sure that's what it's for but I can switch and retie a better knot. also I have a lot of backing. about half the spool, maybe should I get some new braid and backing and respool my reel completely? what do tall think?

Line spools slightly uneven.
Hey all, I have recently noticed that my reel (Curado K) is spooling line on a tad bit uneven. the reel is spooling on more line on the left side of the spool. not sure what is causing this problem. I tried taking it to the park and walking back until no line is left on the spool and reeli ng it back in but had no success. could it be my mono backing connection knot? or is something possibly wrong with the reel. I haven't fished it a whole lot since I got it so maybe that helps find a conclusion. any answers are greatly appreciated. also could this hinder casting difference or is it simply a cosmetic thing?

Play in my reel handle
you are right, add weight to the end of your line and reel and you feel nothing wrong
-
Play in my reel handle
I'm not too worried anymore.
-
Play in my reel handle
I don't think I should worry about it though the reel is still butter smooth.
-
Play in my reel handle
so I tried what you were saying but it Is not that.... it has play behind the drag star on the part that goes into the reel.

Play in my reel handle
did you have this problemo?

Play in my reel handle
so I have had my curado k for 7 months now and have always felt some side to side play in the handle where the handle meets the body of the reel. not sure if this is a problem. when I reel fast enough the handle makes a clacking noise against the reel. also if i pull on the handle in the opposite direction of the reel it also makes the clacking noise. I have no Idea what all the parts are called because I am newer to bait casting gear. so is this a problem? is it an easy fix? or will I even need to get a professional to check it out and fix it?

what rod power for finesse fishing?
I own no finesse tackle yet. people say that the aird x runs a little lighter than advertised so I'm going with the medium to fit my needs. thanks for all the feedback, I really appreciate it.

what rod power for finesse fishing?
why is that? too flimsy?
-
what rod power for finesse fishing?
I really dont know what to get. I think I will be fine on either end of the spectrum I for sure will be buying a daiwa aird x for the rod. do diawas spinning rods tend to run on the faster side? or are they all different?

what rod power for finesse fishing?
So I want to get into finesse fishing but can't afford a medium and a medium light spinning rod to best cover all finesse techniques. so what Power rod should I get for all around finesse fishing. would I be able to effectively throw a smaller dropshot on a medium power spinning rod? or will it be to heavy of a rod for that technique. I just want to know what would be a good all around power of rod for finesse fishing like nedrigs, dropshots, wackyrigs, shakyheads, etc. any input of what power rod to get would be greatly appreciated.

Daiwa legalis vs Daiwa exceller
So I'm in the market for a new finesse fishing combo and have two reels that I have narrowed my search to. the daiwa legalis and the exceler. they are only ten bucks apart and are almost identical in parts and quality. exept for the handle style. the legalis has the through body handle and the exceler has the screw in handle. is there any benefit to having either or is it all personal preference? and do any of you have any experience using these reels? also what size should I get the reel in the 2500 or the 3000?

Will this reel work?
are you saying you broke it or it was not good for the specific techniques ?
-
Will this reel work?
I am not doing any traditional salmon fishing technique I jig from shore vertically on top of some pipes that are like a chokepoint for the salmon to swim through. in order to run down the slough they have to swim through these pipes so i jig a heavy spoon in 6 feet of water and catch em that way. ( I know it may be confusing to picture how I'm fising) other than that I just cast big salmon spinners. I'm going to stick with the med hvy rod because a tutorial on YT said that for jigging med hvy works best.

Will this reel work?
yeah, found out the water I fish in is brackish, so the Curado is out of the picture. but luckily I was just gifted an Abu Garcia ambassadeur that is pretty much new that will work perfectly, now the rod is my next question I think I'll use a medium hvy bass rod for the rod. all I do is throw big 1oz spinners and jig spoons up to 3 Oz so it should be fine.
-
Will this reel work?
I am usually vertically jigging 2 to 3 Oz jigs and accasipnally cast a big 1 Oz spinner. so maybe I'll get like a heavy power fast rod that I could fish with for bass and salmon... I really don't know what do get rodwise.

Will this reel work?
