  1. *****question about breaking period on this motor. 2017 Suzuki 140 4 stoke I know if you search the web on breakin, you’ll get 100 different answers. Some say go by the book, some say run it like you stole it from the get-go. I kinda always went by the book, but that’s after dealer ran it, which happens about 100% of the time in any new boat sales, and usually runs it wot to see if prop is correct size. But in this case, dealer knows what prop it gets because we talked about that already. He’s sold 6 of these with the Suzuki 140A, and all ran best with Suzuki 23 pitch SS. Also, his reply to this is that the factory runs ALL outboards at wot for 10-15 minutes before even leaving the plant. Which I have heard plenty times before. This dealer ( I’m actually selling with the owner) says his breakin on it is: 1) idle at boat ramp at least 5 minutes till warmed up. 2) get on plane and run it at around 4500 rpms, while varying throttle/speed for around 10 minutes. 3) then take it WOT for around 1 minute 4) take back down to mid 4-4500 rpms for a couple minutes 5) trailer it this is my first four stroke, and plan on keeping it for a while, so I’d like to do it right as possible. what do y’all think.
  2. I will report in once I do run it. It’s over 1,000 miles away right now! Lol meeting dealer near my brothers down in the Savannah Ga. (800 mile trip) area next week to pick up. Good thing though! There are some AWESOME little lakes in that area to catch my first bass out of it! And possibly a lunker( my personal best is from there, 11lb 6 oz) I’ll be sticking around there for a couple days to fish. Dealer is going to water test everything this week, making sure everything is 100%. good idea about finding a TM! I’ll do that! *****question about breaking period on this motor. 3. Suzuki 140A 4 stroke. Came with basic electronics, which is fine, I'd rather save the $ and upgrade myself. It came with a Hook 4 in dash, which will stay for running speeds, and graphs mounted next to console and bow will probably be helix 9's or 10's. and a 12V MK Edge 55lb 52" on bow, which will immediately be taken off and sold. Upgrading to a Fortrex 80lb, 52", i think. glad it came with basic equipment, saved some $! I got a GREAT deal on it!!!!!!!!!!
  4. gas tank access...........kinda weird hey! lol get's in the way for rear rod storage a little. but it should be ok. I'll "get around" it!
  5. maybe not....still keeping the H51 for limited hp lakes. it only has a 25hp on it.,,,,,BUT! something like PK195PRO sounds better
  6. I fish chatterbaits (Picasso Shock Blade) in depths from 1-8 ft. I use 3/8 oz 100% of the time.
  7. well,... I have a $100 Cabelas gift card that I paid $82 for lying around, and I just seen that Cabelas has a SPECIAL, "today only" going on. 10% off order plus free shipping. So I just grabbed a Fury 705CB to try. It actually only cost me the $82 I had in the gift card. If I like it, I'll go with another later.
  8. looking to get a couple "under $150" crankbait rods. deciding between the St Croix Premier 70MHM, or the Dobyns Fury 705CB. I've owned the Avid 70MHM before, along with the Dobyns Champion 705CB (both graphite and glass). Liked them both. Just wondering if the power/action in these different models would be about the same as the "one step up" models (Champion vs Fury, Avid vs Premier). uses will be throwing shallow to mid depth cranks (4-10 ft)
