  1. Thanks for the replies.
  2. Don, the anticipation and excitement of your son is more than worth the price of the boat. Have a great summer.
  3. I'm going to have to replace my troll motor in the near future. She's 28 years old. She's a bow mount foot control, would you go back with a foot control or bow mount hand control? Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome Michael, I'm in the north east close to Winnsboro.
  7. I three of the whopper ploppers. I haven't caught a fish with one yet, but then again, I haven't been fishing but three times so far. Maybe next time. Mine are bone, shad and black.

Thanks again for the welcome folks.
  11. I have only three round reels, all Abu Garcia, a 5000, 5000 c and a newly purchased 5500 CS Pro Rocket Black Edition.
  12. Thanks Mickey, I have also checked eBay. Just wondering.
  13. I have an Eagle Pro Series 1000 fishfinder on a 1990 tracker boat. If I buy another Eagle fishfinder will it just plug and play or do I have to purchase a specific transducer?
  14. Update on the P-Line problem. I re-spooled the reel with Power Pro 30 pound braid, problem solved. Thanks for all the advice.
  15. Many thanks everyone for your replies, advice and reccomendations.
  16. Thanks for your response. The line is P-Line CXX X-tra Strong Copolymer in 20 pound test. Thanks for answering, I tried 1 ounce as well. Same result. Thank you sir. I have tried some other combinations, braid, larger weight and such. May just be me.
  17. I need some advice, help, or just tell me it's trash. I bought some 20pound P-Line on the reccommendation of a friend who has been fishing a long time. I also bought a 7'6" heavy fast rod and an Abu Garcia 5500 Pro Rocket. I spooled the reel with the P-Line and I cannot cast it without a backlash every time. Now granted I have not used a bait caster in a long time, but, I had the spool brake(drag) set to the max and only a 1/2 ounce weight for a practice plug. I also have three other bait casters and they cast just fine, an abu garcia 5000(2) and an abu garcia black max. Is there something I'm missing? The P-Line is a copolymer line. I'm thinking just trash it a use something else, a smother braid or just plain mono. Thoughts?

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I hope to learn a lot here.
  19. Msosebee, I have a 1990 bass tracker pro 17 with a 40hp johnson tracker engine. It is a very stable boat, runs out well, not super fast but fast enough for me. I really like it, has a lot of room. The only two nits I have, the foot control for the troll motor is not recessed in the deck and it only has the live well in the rear deck. She's light weight and handles getting on and off the trailer very well. Personally, I think you would really enjoy the boat. And those Johnson outboards are easy to work on.
