  5. Well the day has come and gone the tournament had 54 boats in it unfortunately i finished 53 I tried everything that I knew and was only able to get one keeper The main lake water was 46° in the smaller lakes connected to it were 50+ degrees so I focused on those with no luck so much for finding the warm water most of the boats they caught the five fish limit we're finishing the main lake oh well it's the start and end of my tournament career i'll never pump out that much money to go fishing again I feel so humiliated makes me just want to sell everything and get a new hobby but that'll never happen I love recreational fishing too much and I'll probably enter another tournament again but I'm definitely going to wait till later in the year when the water temperatures are more stable and the bass are more active
  6. Great tips every one thanks I'll post the results

  16. Yep 150 hp tank of a motor and lots of gear. I'll mostly be on smaller lakes/ponds but I do go to okoboji often as well it can get rough on windy days so do you think the 65lb is not enough either I'm planning on getting a new one next year with spotlock so I'm just trying to figure out what to do this summer thanks
  17. I'm trying to decide on what trolling motor im going to use I just bought a 78 ranger 350v it came with to trolling motors.a minn Kota edge 45 lb newer and then a minn Kota all terrain 65 lb older with a broken steering cable.the previous owner had the 65 on it broke the cable got a new cable then changed his mind and bought the 45.he gave me both I fixed the cable but the steering is tighter than the new one.not sure what I should do.anyone have similar boat how much thrust do i need I know more is better but at the cost of ease of use and battery consumption
  18. Can you explain what a Ned rig is I've never heard of it
  19. I thought the same thing but the Garman people say The ps22 changes the screen automatically when you switch it to down the PS 21 is not compatible with the down view screen
  20. That was my plan when I was going to buy the ice bundle kit but I went the cheap route and I plan on making my own mount and mounting it up at the bow that way when I'm fishing I don't need to point My trolling motor at where I'm casting I figure it's got to be easier just to grab a little handled it's made out of some PVC and then to keep bumping my trolling motor the direction I want to go and then back to where I'm fishing from the looks of the ice bundle mount it looks very simple to make your own
  21. So terry are you going to get panoptix for your new unit if you do let me know what you think of it I'm ordering mine as soon as I can even if all it does is let me see structure and drops ahead of me it's worth it to me
  22. Thanks for all input sorry it's taken me so long to get back on the site I just called Garman and they say that the echo map 74 SV chirp is compatible with the PS 22 i can't wait to get it and get it out on the water once all the ice is gone out here I have to go with the PS 22 so I have that down view during the winter when all my lakes freeze over not a fan of ice fishing but I love to fish and I got to do something during the winter
  23. I would suggest garmin very easy to use great gps and cheap striker series is ok but spend the extra and get ecomap bass pro spring classic 450$ But got to hurry I just drove 4 hours one way to get one now I'm running the striker and ecomap love them both not sure where you should mount the transducer tho
