I love Duckweed and I love froggin. On days when they don't want to break the surface, I've used a Snagproof ZooWake with a bullet sinker. Where you have just one layer of weed a squarebill will work. Do you get weeds on the baits? Yes, but it doesn't matter. When the wind piles it up on itself it is too thick to get through unless you punch it. Don't give up on this honey hole. The big bass are still there you just gotta figure out how to catch em!

Any ides on how to rig an urchin when you need to get it into brush? I'm just learning how to fish these baits. Used a treble, a single, frog, and a weedless neko or wacky style but had the most succes with a bare, weedless jig head. Shown are 2 Unis on a jighead with a weed guard. Any other ideas?

@casts_by_fly Yes, this looks funny. I have a power pole micro anchor on my little boat and this is the handle on top of the pole. The camera angle makes it look like it's in the fishes mouth, but it's not.

It was so hot even the bass were sweatin'! In the first photo there is a 10 ft channel on the right and a 14 ft channel on the left. In between is a 6 ft flat with timber, brushpiles, and fallen trees. Bass heaven! SK 4.0 caught a lotta bass. Deflection gets action!

@LGDFW "That's some major self doubt happening🤣" If you don't have confidence in what you are using, line, lure, location, it will affect your catching. You must know that when you cast you will catch a bass. Everytime.

I used a Fullcasi Coike on a carolina rig last week. 3/4 oz weight, 30 inch leader, frog hook. Outside weedline in 6 fow. I could see bass on graph 2 ft off bottom. This is a high floater so worked well for these fish.

After reading and watching a ba-zillion Coike vids and stories I am weary of it all. Nevertheless, here is my urchin storage idea. Costs nothing as I already had the box. Took the wire and platform from Uni container. The box will hold 5 wires with 2 baits on a wire. I don't know why you would need to carry more than that.

How many times have I said; I caught 'em on this spot- brushpile. point. bank. whatever, and I caught .em on this lure last week so. by God. they should be here, and bite the same lure, this week....and I ain't getting bit! But, by God I'm gonna keep doing this till the cows come home, by God! 🥲 Being stubborn and not listening will cost you.

No. but I used to. As i get older my driving distance shrinks so I haven't fished in your area for several years. You and I know how good the bass fishing is in north Missouri, and we ain't telling!. 😀

We have a saying in Iowa...."it's so hot and humid you can hear the corn grow!" That kind of day today. Yo Zuri flat squarebill did the heavy lifting! Caught 3 that were about 5 and several more on a bladed jig stroked off the bottom in 6 fow. Lotsa targets along this bank!
