Thanks Brad, do you think casting distance would be effected much between 30 lb braid and 50lb? I read somewere that a heaver braid will not dig in as much on baitcasters

I forgot to mention it is a bait caster, and I always tie a leader of floro about 2 ft long on the end.Thanks for the reply. I was trying to see if it effects the casting. The reel is a curado 71 hg. When I get snagged up its allways the leader that breaks I cant seem to cast with mono or floro on a baitcaster very well ,maybe just need more practice.

Question, if I have a rod rated for 10-14 lb test line and a reel rated for the same 10-14 lb test line and I put on 20 lb braid spiderwire,does that effect any thing?

Its still tight on there, I just don't like the white part,It was damaged in shipping

How do I fix this? The eye got bent and the glue chiped and turned white.

I restrung my reel with 15 lb braid SW and use a 2 ft 4 lb fluoro leader I like the way the braid handles .Any comments?

Thank You, I have been using the paste, I will definitely try the eggs and a smaller hook .The paste didn't float with the hook I was using , they just stocked and no one was catching anything. Thanks again

I went Trout fishing opening day at mud run lake I was using powerbait on a lite fast action rod. I was riged up with a 1/8 oz egg sinker about 1o inches above a 6 or 8 otapus hook tied with a Snell knot and I was fishing from the bank. got skunked .was getting real quick bites but couldn't hook them, what am I doing wrong? thanks

Hello Everyone I have a St Croix 7 ft bait caster med heavy mod action rod 3/8 -1 oz 10 toi 20 lb test. Is this rod good for all around types of lures and fishing or what type of fishing lures would this rod best be suited for, and what reel would you put on it ?

thanks ,what is easer to cast braid or fluorocarbon on a baitcaster? I read that fluorocarbon is not suited for spinning reels?

I have a hard time seeing and really like that hi vis braid if I use that with a leader will that work ok? And what action is best for ned rigs, isn't that about the same as using a worm?

My eyes are shot ,and fingers don't want to work with that clear mono or fluoro carbon any more , takes me for ever to tie. Things seemed to change since I first started fishing it was a lot simpler then , a 4 foot stick a rock a piece of fishing line and a rusty old eagle claw hook . Oh and a piece of night crawler

Well thanks for all the input. The post for the wopper plopper with adding a split ring and a barrel directly to the lure was to help prevent line twist incase the tail stopped spinning and cased the lure to turn. Thanks again

they come in so many different sizes , how do you match the size to the lure or line or fish?

Ok I have them and used them in the past put they seem to bend out of shape quick. For a Wopper plopper 90 what size snap ring would you use? I have number 4 ,And a number 5 vcm rolling swivel.
