  1. No worries mate. It was still an interesting thread to read through, some of it is certainly relevant. I've been looking into good winter fishing gloves.
  2. It's funny, I've noticed that my tackle box real estate is probably 85% foot ball jigs and 15% sieberts brush jigs. I think it's because I throw 2 colors in the brush jig, pb&j and black and blue. I lose some, I buy more, they all live in one big bin in the jig tray. The football jigs I have big ones small ones ones of different colors some with stand up heads some with tungsten some with lead... but none of them ever get used! I flip a brush jig 99.99999% of the time. I dont flip or fish a jig in grass and I dont slow roll rocky banks eith them. Just the way my lakes are built here I guess.
  3. @Catt, what do you use to tie those on? It seems to me that the bait keeper is a little close to the eye for a uni or.... whatever that other knot is called. I can never remember. Same with the vertical line ties on those owner flipping hooks... or has the era of the shank knots come and gone?
  4. I went to lime green or chartruse braid on both spinning reels, I'm using 6lb and 8lb yozuri hybrid as a leader for just that reason. I never had problems with the extra knot.
  5. I have to admit that I'm curious. I recently switched from PP 65 to TUF Domin8 50 for my frogging set up. I am really enjoying the line but it has some of the same pitfalls, namely the slinky nature. No matter how good the brakes and or thumb are you gotta be on your game to watch for loose wraps. A stiffer, coated line like this is probably exactly what would solve that. I've never been a fireline fan but I'm keeping my eyes on it now.
  6. Melting the weight into the elaztech plastic. You can't just push a nail weight in, it flies right back out! That's not a bad idea. I have some tiny unpainted lead jigs I can use too. I'll give it a whirl tomorrow.
  7. I have a couple bags of them. I gotta grab a lighter on my way up to the reservoir in the morning and try them out ?
  8. Spent some time today nailing down the ins and outs as best I can. This time I changed things up a bit... 2/0 d/s hook (all I had!) Instead of a #2 neko hook. I still used a senko o-ring but ran the flat section of the hook bend through the bait lengthwise to increase my hook-worm contact ratio. The most important adjustment as it turns out was using a 6.5" zoom trick worm. Conditions were terrible today but I still caught a bunch of squeakers. I broke 1 trick worm in half, still had both halves. Didn't lose 1. I feel like I had more bites using the jackall flick shake worm so I swapped out to one... immediately got bit and immediately lost my worm like the other day. Looks like it's just those flick shake worms that were the culprit.
  9. Beat me to it! Lol no restrictions, $100 max. It's a pretty good one.
  10. That rod should have some backbone, it should be capable of walking hollow body frogs too. As long as the bait is heavy enough to be castable it should walk them ok... things like original spooks.
  11. 6'6" heavy mod fast? Big cranks and squarebills, chatterbaits, big topwater like ploppers too.
  12. You are quite correct. It would appear that they made good after all. I do love a happy ending ? good thing too, I have a pile of 6th sense stuff in my shopping cart on TW waiting for the labor day sale lol
  13. This makes me happy. I'm glad they made it right!
  14. Speaking of TW... will they do their labor day sale over the weekend or not start it till monday?
  15. I'm a big fan of the 6th sense flat 75x.. but until our friend here on the forum solves his customer service issue, I won't be sending them anymore money. It pains me, I love their stuff but I hate seeing the CS on growing businesses go to crap ?
  16. I do now! I can think of a few times it might come in handy.
  17. I'm going to use stick baits, but I'm also going to try the stainless split ring business. I'll see if my local walmart carries split rings in their big wall of eagle claw hooks and stinkers. I really want to use a smaller diameter finesse worm, or at least have the option to. Maybe I can get away with smaller diameter o rings on my wacky tool. I'll report back when I figure something out!
  18. I got one in my MTB a while back, the catch co flickity split. Theres just something about it, it does a great job of not picking up grass, haven't lost one to a snag yet. I think they're 3/16th oz. I liked them so much I ordered a bunch more.
  19. Sorry man I'm not seeing it. If the spool is moving independently of the drive train it's the pinion skipping on the main gear or the drag. The drag is the easiest and cheapest thing to trouble shoot... if its noisey though I'm leaning towards gears now that I think about it. Still, if it's a bad bearing causing the clearance issue it might be fixable without replacing one gear or both. Here's hoping.
  20. Eye bars... I'd say pickerel. Put it up to your ear, if it burrows in and controls your mind then it's definitely a Ceti eel larva and will kill you.
  21. YZH is a tiny bit thicker than some monos, like .001 (about the same as big game) or so but its actual breaking strength is much higher. 6lb breaks around 11lbs... I fish on 10lb for most moving baits, breaks at like 15lbs or so if memory serves.
  22. If the AR went out the handle would be spinning backwards. If the spool is slipping independently from the drive train, it's the drag.
  23. Dry drag disc? that can cause inconsistent performance. That, or there is a totally blown bearing on the opinion of the end of the spool shaft causing just enough play for the gears to slip, but you would see other symptoms in that case. I'd say your drag needs some serious attention. My money is that some new drag discs and a little grease and you'll be in business.
  24. I have exchanged emails with them a few times and I'm honestly shocked. I feel like they wouldn't be happy to know that there was a customer unsatisfied with their service. Let me see if I can find you a higher-up email. To he honest, and I'm only playing devil's advocate here... are you sure they understand the issue? Because I'm not seeing what you're taking about in the pictures. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that I dont fully understand the issue.
  25. Did you buy direct from 6th sense or from a retailer?
