  3. Installed a Hobie square hatch in my mirage compass. Does anyone know what the clip that’s there on the right side of the lid above the netting is for?
  4. Hey Minnow I have a tri-fold toneau cover on My Chevy & it's not a problem going down the roadwith the kayak in the back. There's 2 snap buckles at the front of the cover that keep the folds down on the bed. Tite lines 2020.
  5. Roger that CountryBoy. I’ll check out the Ram mount. ??
  6. Got a nw Lowrance Hook Reveal 9” for the Hobie Mirage Compass. Lookin at YakAttack or Ram ball mounts that will mount in the trac system. What have y’all installed on your rigs & any preferences? Tite Lines 2020
  7. Yea I saw that Hobie came out with the retractable xdcr bracket after I bought the Compass. ?
  8. 10-4 I looked at the arm from yak attack. They must be popular cause their sold out on their website. I’ll definitely look into the Berley Pro 1st
  9. Thanks for the replies. I saw the Berle pro cover at the kayak shop. How much does it limit you in “skinny” water hanging on the bottom of the hull like that?
  10. Got a 2020 Hobie Mirage Compass 12ft kayak. It's Lowrance transducer ready. Looking at the included mounting bracket the regular skim type xdcr will fit perfect inside & flush with the underside of the kayak. Looking at the Lowrance Hook2 models they come with either a split shot xdcr which is chirp & down imaging or triple shot which is chirp, down imaging & side imaging. However the xdcr for the triple shot is appx 12" & will not fit flush in the cavity which will make it protrude from the bottom of the hull about 3". They make a special cover specifically for the triple shot xdcr to put on the Hobie. Again it'll still protrude below the hull 3-3-1/2". I'm also told that the triple shot or any side imaging xdcr's for that matter can't be mounted for a through hull application & that they have to be in the water. ? Maybe I'm just resolved to being stuck with the split shot xdcr instead? Any of Y'all have any units installed on your kayaks & if so, what solutions have y'all come up with? Thanks in advance.
  11. Nice tips. Appreciate all the replies.

  14. Some plastic worms float straight up & some lay down on the bottom. Is there really one plastic worm that's the preferred for shakey head jigs or is it personal preference?
  15. Does anyone in or around the Eastern Shore Maryland area know of any groups such as Project Healing Waters who are taking PTSD & DAV Vets out fishing? I'm trying to get a chapter in the Cecil County MD PPVA area & need some contacts to get the ball rolling.

  17. Have a 38gal tank on the Ranger 188vs. I put the Stabil 360 marine formula additive in it & keep it full to combat the water build up from the ethanol in the gas. Question is for long term storage say a year or so, is it better to rack off all the gas & start fresh later or let *** ride? Most additives say it keeps gas fresh for up to a year.
  18. Good points Toxic. Thanks for the reply. Tite Lines 2018
  19. Thinking about getting one of these locker bar alarm system to put on the Ranger 188VS. Does anyone have this system installed on their bass boats? If so, Pros & Cons. Thanks
  20. Good points all. I agree it's more personal preference. But I didn't think about if you get braid line snagged & not being able to break it off so easy.
  21. I've been hearing mixed reviews of using a flurocarbon leader with braided line & some say use straight braid? What's the general consensus?
  22. Glad it wasn't a major issue. Tite lines Tom.
  23. Had My Son push the pedal up & down & checked the linkage from the hot foot back to the motor & butterflies. Everything moved as it should've. As I was looking around the linkages I noticed a 2 piece gray mating connector was apart. Apparently the TPS connector some how came apart? Still don't know how I suspect that when it was in the shop last maybe they used some computer connections on it & didn't press it together tight enough? I pushed them back together & made sure they "snapped" in real tight so it wouldn't come apart again. Started it up & after a few minutes of warm up time had My Son exercise the pedal & low & behold it runs up to full RPM & down repeatable. So the Ranger is back in business. Thanks to all for weighing in on the situation. Tite Lines 2018
