  1. I put a order in last night and got the notification it was in the mail this afternoon. I typically don't get bent up about shipping times anymore. Amazon Prime spoiled me with 2-3 day shipping and I went through a phase where I thought that should be the norm...2 kids later and I'm just glad I can order diapers and wipes on line after Baby's R Us went belly up.
  2. I used my nephews rig spooled up with Tatsuya and came away impressed.
  3. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but your handles are on the wrong side. I jest.
  4. Tatula Elite 100HSL(189.99) and a Tatula 6'3 MFB(129.99)to put it on. I am SUPER excited, as I feel like I got a solid deal on both.
  5. I still do a good bit of wading. It is one of my preferred methods. It forces me to slow down, look at the water and really match the hatch.
  6. I quit a can a day of tobacco for 20 years on 01/04/19. Since than, I only need about 6 hours of sleep and wake up like a lightning bolt hit me at 4AM.
  7. Ugh...SMH. Split rings, treble hooks, crankbait lips and colors so WILD they would make a Mardi Gras Indian jealous. Now it is line noise. People give these critters too much credit. Mardi Gras Indian picture in case you wondering.
  8. Buzz baits.
  9. Gummy Worms...LOLZ
  10. I catch more on the 1/4, than 3/8. Don't know why, but the drop rate is super slow and for my style of fishing, that slow roll just catches more of them.
  11. Good rod and line. Of course, what constitutes "good" is subjective to a certain extent and is usually broken down by price for most people. The rod and line are the interface between the water and the dummy on the other end.
  12. Mine typically works with a tall glass of whole, chocolate milk. SO, dirty water. I jest
  13. I was just going to post the same thing. I watched Pros buzz rip rap banks in 40k bass boats and than come trolling back down the bank tossing plastic crawl trigger and jigs with craw trailers. We live in a place, where the two legged Big Mouths, eat as many crawfish, as the tailed versions do. I catch my fair share on YUM Craws every year, too.
  14. TERRIBLE QC if it turns out to be a systemic issue and there are enough reports here to make one wonder. The gear sets are not nearly as big an issue as the bearings. You will get all kinds of false brenelling from the lack of lube between the ring and rolling elements. Leading to shortened life spans. Curious if any of the local reel guys who mess with these all the time, have noticed this as well?
  15. Sooooo, I'm a big SENKO fella. I throw them ALL the time, but this year I found Yo-Zuri 3DS in 2.75 and I have been slaying them since mid July. We just got our first cold front this past week. 80 during the day and high 60's at night. I'm expecting the fish to flip on 'meal time, winter is coming' and these 3DS are going to be getting worked, worked hard.
  16. Pigeon River on the Minny/CAN boarder...great backpack trail and good fishing...weather might be a little cool
  17. Bait Monkey got me bad on those 3DS in early summer..best 2 hundy I have spent on lures, in awhile.
  18. Yeah, would love to see it.
  19. I have started using a small swivel as well. I have started pre-tieing them with about 10" of line and putting them on a card. I like that short length, because when you are wading shallow water...TREES and sometimes you need that super accurate cast and that requires ME to get short. I'm going to try to work up a Plano box of them this winter...maybe I will do a show and tell.
  20. I would be attacking that BowTie looking submerged island, on the South end of the lake, with cranks and NedRigs.
  21. I introduced my city slicker nephew(now 15yo) to fishing about 3 years ago. We started fishing small, CLEAR rivers and creeks that required wading. Light gear, with light line, polarized sunglasses and an uncle that told him he was gonna lose a bunch of lures and that was ok. What I hoped it would do, is let him both see and feel a strike at the same time. I made him throw white RoosterTails in 1/8oz the first couple of hours. We spent a bunch of time getting them out of trees and snags, but I had the very fortunate experience of watching him put a perfect cast, into a little slack pocket and saw that white flash hit the lure. Before I could say 'set the hook' he had already dropped the tip and broke its head. I'll never forget that. I walked over to him and asked to explain what he saw and what he felt that made him set the hook. "I saw a flash, right where my lure landed and than I felt like the rod was being pulled from me"... I think it something that is hard to explain to the new and experienced fishermen. It comes with a ton of water time. It comes with a ton of dead space between bites, than missing one and feeling that 'depression'. That is why I am subscriber to the theory of "when in doubt, knock em out". StickBass,StoneBass,GrassBass,BootBass,RopeBass...I have caught them all, Fella and hook sets are cheaper than Senkos and I have been giving em for free for a good bit.
  22. Water clarity thing for me when it comes to green colored lures. The clearer the water is, the better the 'green' lures work for me. I recently waded the upper Bogue Chiito River, in S Mississippi. It had not rained in about 7 days and the water was Gin like. I threw a Yum Crawbug in Green Pumpkin and ran through 2 packs of them on about 35 Spotted Bass. I tried a couple of other colors and didn't get anything, including Carolina Pumpkin, Crawfish, and Chartreuse Pumpkin...not even a pick up or a strike and I'm one of those idiots that will get on a hot streak and change JUST THE COLOR of the lure to see what is shaking. So I went in and out of Green Pumpkin a few times...is it a confidence thing?
  23. And it is not everytime with Reds either, but I will do a 'walk the dog' type of retrieve and toss in a pause. That is where the Reds just can't handle it anymore. The LB? If I put it within 10ft of them, they are coming down on it with bad intentions. I may invest in some backstock, just in case they stop making them. My wife can't believe I fish with them..."they are so pretty and fancy" she says.
