  1. Im one of the few I believe that still use 6'6 rods haha. I mainly river fish, and don't need to bomb cast anything a mile, most if my targets are small and prefer accurate casts the 6'6 helps with. I have the old style 6'6 MH/F lightning rod(not shock) and I used it for topwater for a long time. Great rod, I don't see why the shock would be any different. Throwed alot of poppers and propbaits with it. Fluke fished too Only reason I upgraded was I got a Duckett Terex 6'6 MH/F at a steal. Just a little better quality rod. I still have that rod and have been tempted lately to put a reel on it
  2. I have a 7' MH and have countless bass with it. Great rod for the price. Only issue I had was I broke the tip off. Attached a new eye and back Fishing. Side note, that's the only rod my grandfather likes to redfish with. He's caught several nice bulls on em, he uses 7' MH as well. Again you'll hear nothing but Positive from me on that rod
  3. I'm another, haven't bought into the whopper plopper scam. To me it's just a hardbait trying to be a buzzbait. Seeing how I hardly fish a buzzbait, whopper plopper was a easy No. Y'all enjoy them.
  4. Code worked liked a champ, @Brett's_daddy Thank you!
  5. Any tackle Warehouse codes?
  6. This thread gave me a good laugh. It's gonna be the next Instagram hashtag #balancedfishing #2019goals #balancedBASS
  7. @fin I don't mind the extra hardware/cost. It's worth it to me and my location. Like @A-Jay said the prime benefit is producing a larger jig bite, in places I can't usually fish a Jig. Thanks @Catt I found the lead punch weights on Tackle Warehouse, perfect for a river fisherman like me! I might try the ziptie trick
  8. Yep walk just fine!
  9. Popping frog is my first go to, unless your fishing slop that won't let it pop properly
  10. For this technique, what is everyone's favorite skirt to put on? I'm talking brand, best for quality, durability, and ease of installing? Edit: I've been looking at BOSS skirts on tackle Warehouse and love the colors/price
  11. What's the story?? All 10lb bass have a story behind it! Nice catch!
  12. Thanks fellas, that's exactly what I needed to know. I love dragging and flipping a jig and was just tired of loosing them. I knew I couldn't be the only one with that idea.
  13. I typically go through a fairly good bit of jigs each year. The typical reasons, mainly river fish. But you can use a T-rig in the same places and not go through near the jigs. My question is, has anybody used punch skirts with a T-rig creature bait under it? Say 1/2ounce tungsten, with 4/0 and baby brush hog? It's something I was going to try this year and just looking for pointers
  14. I usually carry a couple ultralights when I go to the river, 6lb mono. Zebco ZO2 with zebco Omega rod. Usually throw tiny cranks like strike king, rebel. Also throw roadrunners and beetle spins. We use "satilla spins" with is just a local made small spinnerbait. Panfish-Copperheads, warmouth, shell cracker, red breast, and occasionally specks. Most if the time you end up catching several bass and mudfish. Im also a believer bass like tiny baits.
  15. Welcome to your new obsession
  16. And what Bass Fisherman doesn't like Fishing topwater?? Really liking Rapalas X-prop, great improvement over the tried and true devil's horse I've thrown for years!
  17. A not trying to be a smart aleck, but how did you tell he was exhausted? Was he breathing hard or something? Hooked him and he didn't fight? Just curious
  18. Propbaits, they can't stand for something to be over top of them!
  19. Caught bass few days ago @Catt on a junebug lizard already. South Ga spawn is on!! I do like @WRB suggested put a small split shot 1.5ft up and work a lizard gingerly through shallows and around beds. So technically it's a c-rig
  20. Buy Cheap lights, get cheap results. Buy quality lights, and they'll last you
  21. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/13_Fishing_Inception_Slide_Casting_Reels/descpage-13IS.html?from=basres With a 40$ Berkeley Lightning Rod from Wal-Mart. 7'0 MH
  22. Give 1 3 Fishing a shot, you'll love what they have to offer!
  23. Welcome to Bass Resource! Nice setup!
  24. I use all brands. Whatever works the best for me, fits the budget, catches fish, and doesn't tear every fish. Some outshine more than others and they get my money.
