  1. I love the space monkey myself either on the top of the water weightless or a lil' weight on it steady retrieve under the surface has even produced! Great products.
  2. I picked up a 7ft Medium Vendetta casting rod from them recently. It did take a full 2 weeks to arrive when I'm located in the midwest! But aside from that everything has been good so far.
  3. Can anyone recommend a good stout rod for lily pad fishing for $100 or less?
  4. Park Hills, Missouri here. (60 miles south of STL) Fish Big River, Bismarck Lake (Di Salvo Lake), and a private lake we have a lot at.
  5. I caught a nice sized channel cat on a crankbaits yesterday actually. Hooked him in the back, poor ugly guy was just swimming along and got snagged I guess.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys, greatly appreciate it. The lake is in fact still heavily covered with vegatation. Its certainly a challenge to find the fish there but regardless its a ten minute drive and I'll keep fishing her.
  7. Very good point, didn't consider that. Regardless I'll let you guys when I land her.
  8. I've every intention to keep fishing there as often as possible. I'd just certainly like to know the lakes potential or living giants
  9. I recently started fishing a local lake here in Southeast Missouri. I've heard countless fish stories from old timers that the living state record is in this lake. A personal friend of mine also told me that the Missouri Conservation already shocked the lake this year and there was supposedly a living 16lber recorded. Is there anyway to contact the Conservation department and have them verify this information? Also for any Missouri guys interesed the lake is Di Salvo Lake, better known as Bismarck Lake. The current state record is 13 lbs 14 ounces so as you can imagine I'm pretty excited.
  10. I live in Park Hills, Missouri, which is roughly 60 miles south of St. Louis. I fish Big River from time to time and here lately have been trying Bismarck Lake. Anyone from St. Francois county?
  11. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2010452&cp=2157988&sr=1&origkw=Fishing+Kayak&kw=fishing+kayak&parentPage=search&searchId=26216479143 What's everyones opinion on that kayak? It will be used for a small river i fish in the summer. Very slow and lazy river with some good fishing.
  12. Well today I lost what would of been my PB after she jumped from the water to throw my fat ika. A few weeks ago I lost another solid fish on a jump and she threw my jig-n-pig. When a bass jumps from the water, what can you do to help ensure he stays hooked up?
  13. Just a question I've been thinking about, given ordinary average conditions and some good solid time on the water, how many fish does it take you to boat to feel that you've had a good day on the water? Obviously this will range from newbs to you vets but not being that experienced I'd say 5+ makes me feel like I did something right. Then again the day of my personal best it was the only one I caught but still walked away satisfied.
  14. I guess it doesn't help you much since your getting yours from a lake, but if there's a nearby creek/river etc. etc. I've always caught my minnows with a big ol' pickle jar, a screen on top with a hole in it and some crackers. Most of my fishing is done on a small river so I stop and catch some minnows, use em up and then go back for more whever i decide to stop at.
  15. GMAN, what lake is that? I live 60 miles south of St. Louis in Park Hills and i noticed highway 32 on the map.
