  1. I need this thread deleted! Just bought a Fuego and a tatula baitcaster. Trying to wait to Labor Day to upgrade my Walmart spinning reel. Seeing these threads makes me want to buy a new spinning now.
  2. If your not a good swimmer than spending $250 is worth your life. I would buy what is the best bet to to save your life. I’m an excellent swimmer and wear a small vest. If I was not a good swimmer I would buy the best protection possible.
  3. So I’ve found a sweet spot were the bass hit Shad like crazy. The only problem is there is gar there as well. Lost $30 worth of lures fishing with mono. I know people that fish for gar use steel leaders, but would braid protect my lures a little?

I use the nomad book bag and so far love it. Think a regular book bag would of covered it, but the wife bought it as a present. I posted a pic in another thread where I used the built in flashlight the other night on it.
  5. So I had a cheap book bag setup and my wife bought me the wild river nomad as an early Father’s Day present. I think she used an Amex coupon on amazon and got it for $75. At first I thought it was a little overkill, but do love all the features on it. The other night I even used the light on it to tie a lure. I’m strictly a bank fisherman and fish a good bit. So for me I think it is money well spent.
  6. I just caught a bass last night on the 110. I have two 90’s and the 110 just performs better. With the 90’s they seem to nose dive when I bomb it at. The 110 starts plopping right away.
  7. Went out yesterday evening and tried some new spots. Game wardens were in full effect as they talked to me at the first pond I went to. Nice guy and told me about some areas I hadn’t been to. The first pond had about 15 people already fishing at it and I caught nothing as I couldn’t hardly fish any of it. The second spot I hit was almost at dark and another game warden found me. As he was talking to me I started to see the bass hitting the top. Threw out the whopper plopper and caught the bass in the picture. Think I may of found a nice morning and late evening spot.
  8. So I guess I’m going to receive a military discount after all with TW. Sorry to make a fuss over it. I feel as I get older I have a hard time dealing with dumb stuff. I wish they had the military verification like most legitimate businesses.
  9. Called TW as I wanted to make sure I could get my military discount. They said I need to send a copy of my military ID, which is illegal. Last night I sent them my pay stub and used my military e-mail. The lady today and the email said they only except a copy of a military ID. Not breaking the law for them. So I guess I won’t be doing any business with them. Is there any other sites beside the big box stores that are good this Memorial Day weekend.
  10. Well bought the tatula for $78 off of eBay last night while having an adult beverage or two. Was hoping to get 15% of a St. Croix mojo bass at TW, but it’s excluded. Guess that’s the way it goes.
  11. I’ve found turtles also like swim baits. Luckily I’ve always got them off very easy.
  12. So I need a two piece casting rod that I plan on putting my Daiwa Fuego on. It has to be a two piece as I have a small car and child seats in the back. I’m currently looking at the st. Croix bass mojo line. Is there any others that I should be looking at?
  13. That sounds awesome. My wife on the other hand says this is how I get addicted to kayak fishing and rig my civic to buy one.
  14. Didn’t even know what a dep 250 was till now. I can tell you I would cry if I lost one. So after watching a bunch of YouTube videos I’ve ordered the rat. I’ll post up my results after I get it next week. I hope I have great results with it.
  15. I would qualify for the 25% off, but I always find TW to be kind of high. Is there something that I shouldn’t pass up with that discount?
  16. I going to need someone to talk me into buying a fake rat for $25. I think my expectations may be a little high for that much money. I was upset to pay $10 for a whopper plopper and $6 for senkos.
  17. Yea I feel the same way. Working with branch now looking for somewhere new. Only good part is I’m not part of the Cav. Not sure if MWR has kayaks, but I only have a Civic so no way to carry it. I wanted a new truck, but drive over 100 miles a day so a small car makes more sense.
  18. I have way to many bags of plastic everything. My go to has been a pumpkin zoom lizard that has been solid at every lake I go to. I’m in Texas fishing clear lakes though. When I was on the east coast and fishing murky water everything I had looked like a disco.
  19. I work on a military base that has stocked ponds, but they are heavily fished. I take the kids to those as they are good for brim and catfish. On my lunch break I fish small ponds in training areas that no one else goes to. It is kind of a pain to have the right documentation and passes. It’s worth it as they seem like my own private ponds and I always catch bass.
  20. Was going to post almost this exactly. Sometimes I’ll clean catfish, but for the most part I’m to lazy to keep them. If someone is near that’s wants to keep catfish or sunfish I usually give them away.
  21. Caught a few nice ones at a little pond in the military training area. It feels like it’s my own personal pond. My wife says it’s because I’m the only idiot that goes fishing at lunch next to the impact area. The artillery can be a little loud at times.
  22. Seeing your post just reinforces that I need to try senkos again. Looks like you had a great time with your granddaughter and that makes it great.
  23. All my hits came off a straight retrieve. No luck when I stopped it or walked the dog.
  24. Yup, at the great place.
  25. I bought the 90 as I use lighter line and rods with my bait caster. I also used it on a small pond in a training area on a military installation. Let me know how the 110 performs and what body of water you used it on. Nothing like seeing them hit a top water lure.
