  1. Thank you both. Have you found any other use for the jig(?) heads? I don't own any tube baits, so I'm not sure if they'd be compatible.
  2. Did these lures actually work? I didn't know where I got these things until I did a Google search and saw QVC mentioned. That explains it all as my Mom (d.2006) was a QVC-aholic.
  3. Thanks guys, I wasn't sure so I thought I would ask.
  4. I just got a bunch of new plastic baits from different mfrs and they reek of a petroleum smell. While I realize plastic is petroleum based, I can't help but wonder if this is safe. I also have a bunch of 15+ yr old plastics that stink just as bad and was going to throw them away. 1) Is this normal? 2) Do fish shy away from this smell? 3) Should I wash them before use? If so, is there a particular detergent to use? Any insight is appreciated.
  5. That sure helped me out a bunch. Thanks.
  6. I managed to remove the burr with a bamboo skewer, and then ran a trimmed q tip through the guide with no hang ups, followed that with some 4# line run back and forth and all is good. No files were used. I'm just glad I saw the burr before I spooled up new line.
  7. I just received my Daiwa Fuego from Cabela's and noticed a burr in the line guide bushing. I thought it was loose debris, but a toothpick gets hung up on it. It's hard to see in the photo but it's at the 2 o'clock position. Glad I noticed it before anything evil happened. Now I need to find my needle files.
