Local Miami Florida bass fishing spots
tbh pretty much anywhere in south florida you can catch bass. i fish mostly local park lakes and neighborhood ponds from the shore. Peacock bass are in the canals in miami, broward, and palm beach counties so i hear. Ive never caught one but ive never gone out of my way to try.

baitcaster casting left?! human error?!
thanks for everyone's replies! i switched to a heavier weight, and reset the spool tension knob and the brakes to 3/4 to max. I played around with my release point and was able to cast straight a few times towards a tree stump that was about 20 feet away. I found that when i release at an early "awkward feeling time" it was going straight to where i was aiming. When i release at a point where im use to for the spinning rig, it go way left lol. So thank you again to everyone who offered advice. Im gonna head to a park this weekend where i have more room to really cast it out. Tom, that is intersting! im the same as you it seems. right hand/left eye dominant. thanks for your input!

baitcaster casting left?! human error?!
yes im right handed and it goes left lol. What do you mean by rod not loading correctly? ill try to add on a heavier weight and see what happens. My release point is what i thought was the issue because im use to whipping my spinning rig. Ill keep trying tho!

baitcaster casting left?! human error?!
so i just bought my first baitcasting setup a few days ago. i got the Lews american hero combo from dicks since my friend works there and gets 25% discount. I tied on a 1/8 ounce weight and have practicing casting it but for some reason it always goes left lol. Ive been trying mostly side arms casts since thats how im use to doing it with a spinning setup. Is something wrong with the baitcasting setup or does it sound like human error? I had my dad try it over the weekend and it did the same thing for him but he hasnt used a bait casting reel in many years. Ive been watching basically every youtube video on how to cast it and i feel like i am doing what they say but it ALWAYS goes left lol. Thanks!

How to haul jon boat
So a few years ago i had a 10’ flat bottom aluminum jon boat, i gave it to a family friend when i moved to NYC. When i had the boat, i had a decent size lake behind my house that i use to fish so i never traveled with the boat. Now that i am back in south Florida, the friend has no use for the boat and its just a leaf collector in their back yard. My issue is i do not live with a lake behind me now and i would like to get boat and be able to bring to a few local lakes here and fish. How i could i haul it to the lakes? I was looking for a trailer but they are pretty expensive. Any ideas? My vehicle is a 2016 ford escape. Wish i still had my truck so i could just throw it in the bed lol. If a trailer is the only option which i think it might be, any ideas where i can find a cheap one? Any help would be great.

ugly stik and penn reel.
Thanks for all the replies. So it sounds like the ugly stik might actually be something i could use then. Living in south florida, i throw texas rigs often down here. Ill give it a go this weekend.

ugly stik and penn reel.
so my buddy gave me a few fishing poles since he doesnt have time for it anymore. first one was a ready2fish saltwater combo (looks like a walmart special from what i can see online) and the second is an Ugly Stik SP1101 7' mh with a Penn Fierce 4000. is that a combo that could be useful for something? im just a weekend warrior. any insight or infomation would be welcomed.

Moving to NC or GA. Hows the fishing?
Hey everyone, so as the title states i am going to be moving at the end of August and i am trying to figure out where i should head to. My long time buddy/roommate is getting married in July and is buying a house with his soon to be wife and the rising rents of south florida are slowly pricing me out of the area. So i was looking into moving to Macon, GA or Greensboro, NC since i have friends in each area that i could stay with until i am able to get a place. I was wondering how the fishing and other outdoor activities (camping, biking, hiking) are in those areas. I mainly bank bass fish (was thinking of getting a small jon boat or kayak once im settled). Any tips about the areas or advice is welcomed! Thanks in advance!
