thanks for the advises guys, i figure a drop shot or something like that should only be used if im planning to go pan fishing, which i dont munch unless im not getting any other bites, maybe my issue is finding place that actually have fish or fish big enough to bite

just looking for some advice. How do you guys dont get overwhelmed with so many rigs and baits whenever is time to fish a new place. sometimes i want to try a new lake or canal (south florida) but easily get overwhelmed with what should i been trying for a new place. between plastic rigs, jerbaits, dropshot, swimbaits, crankbaits.....?, usually fish for around 3 hours but i get discourage quickly because i feel i didn't try what i should have been trying then go back to saltwater which is pretty much bait and a hook. this year hopefully i can start on a different note.

thats exactly why my 3 baitcaster reels are left so i dont have to switch hands, seems to me more natural to fight the fish with my dominant hand.

hey there. i will probably start doing that if i dont sell it. it is a nice rod and maybe works better than the 2 piece rod i currently have which is a cheap brand i keep on the car at all times. Yeah o noticed most people lefty or righty likes right reels but somehow i can reel better with my left been a righty.

make total sense. thats why i got it originally for thinking it wouldn't be a struggle

any advise help. question why would u prefer a 1 piece rod over a 2 piece. i mean putting it in the car is doable when i put it across from the back seat top towards the trunk, between the 2 front seats and tip rest on the dashboard right corner. thats why i usually get a 2 pieces rod rod is brand new never been used, reel is been 2 times no fish yet on it

Im trying to see one rod and a reel and im not sure if im asking a fair price. the rod is an Abu Garcia ProMax 1 Piece 7 feet medium heavy fast action model pmax3‑l/701 , and the reel is a pretty unknown brand piscifun torrent 7:1:1 with left retrieve, i was asking 65$ locally, i dont know if thats a good deal or should be lower/higher. Selling it because with 2 doors car is a pain to carry it around so never used the rod. Anyone with experience that can help would be great. thanks.

the spillway is the one right behind the firestation where there is a dirt area for parking ? i talked to a guy fishing there once he claim to be fishing it for 20 years and it hold jacks, red fish and snook, personally i never seen them but i did lost a gar. He claims is brackish water and i seen some what looks like mullet. due to i use glasses is hard for me to use polarized sunglasses. get headache quick without my prescription glasses ?

thanks for the advise guys. maybe this one specific spot is just a weird one, there is fish but maybe they just want live bait or something else. tried yesterday again with no luck.

Yeah u could see them but not bite...maybe they wanted something live , tried trigs, some swimbaits and drop shots but kept getting snagged so trigs worked the best throught the weeds

hi guys. i usually do saltwater fishing but now im living next to C13 canal in Fort Lauderdale area, also have the c14 and the G15 close by and a bunch of others small canals. What lures/bait and rigs you guys use . I see the fish cruising by (some really big ones) and some gars but these canals i notice they really weedy with bottom roots, so its snag-land. I seen people mostly use shinners but if going to tackle shop is not an option, what should i been throwing there. Bought a minnow trap to maybe catch some bait and maybe start doing some panfishing for cut bait. really need help guys this canals are frustrating me...and the iguanas jumping in the water 20 at the time is not helping lol. thanks.

Awesome get reels are good to go just ordered some 8lb fluro por leader and ill replace the 30 i been using for the 12lb or maybe order some 15lb later on. I know i wont catch a monster from bank just keeping it fun, guess quantity vs size

Hi guys. I do not own a boat so all my fishing is bank/shore fishing. I always do saltwater but starting a month ago got into freshwater since i have some canals, parks close to my house. I usually carry a backpack and 2 telescopic rods [i know they not the best but is easier to carry on the backpack] both are MH 7.3 and spinning is 8. im running 20lb braid and 30lb flouro for leader. I usually leader everything and use a swivel to main line since its easier to change when im out. I got a M rod at home i was thinking put 15lb braid with 12 flouro for finnesse like TRD and weighless T Rigs. What do you guys recomend im general for the 3 setups.

Makes sense guess with the easier access they over fished. I have a canal next to me run pretty long guess ill give it a try but i can onky do bank fishing.

Thanks for the advice guys...i been looking at some water bodies around on google earth sadly most are always part of a propertie or some business, parks are what mostly is easy access, but i saw lots of people dont like parks, why?

Hi guys, just started bass fishing couple of days ago in some local parks and i was wondering what is you giys routine (lures or baits) when fishing a new lake or ponds or canals and when to move on, also i been looking for ripples in the water as sign of life, is there anything i should be looking for? Hi guys im startimg on bass fishing only been out two times started day before yesterday. Visited cb smith park today and cought 2 LM in ome hour but not too big. I love roght next to veteran park on c13 canal (the one in okaland park with the tank) how good is this canal to walk it and is fishing allowed here?? Thanks

Hi guys, doing some research for new fishing spots, someone recommended on an old post area around sawgrass expressway some canals, but need a good area since no boat for now and just want to explorer new areas, mostly always fish ocean so want to give fresh water a try. thanks for any advice.
