yeah, line effects fishing a lot. Heavy mono like yours will negatively affect your casting distance and the overall feel plus you don't need 20lb mono that stuff is really strong

Spoons. Caught my PB smallie and Walleye on red and white spoon don't know why but fish go nuts over the red and white spoon

Hmm intersting is their a little switch that holds the side plate in if so make sure it's on the closed position

Abu garcia veritas 3.0, gen 1 and 2 had issues with the blanks but gen 3 has gotten that sorted out

Yeah it will come in a plasic clam shell packaging

Congrats man baitcasting is a little difficult at first but it is definitely the way to go. Make sure to read up on how to properly adjust your reel it makes a huge difference, anyways good luck with your new reel

It's not unnecessary the worst feeling is when you loss a big fish because of your hook straightening out that being said you might get away with it

I'm a die hard abu garcia fan but I'm not gonna lie the ugly stick elite casting rod has caught my eye anyone have any experience with these

I had the same problem with my old abu garcia pro max unfortunately I'm not much help since I just replaced my reel but it sounds like you might have nudged it and it isn't seated properly which caused it to not engage properly

I'm sure if you could find the knob you're looking for it would be an easy swap it's like one screw and a bearing

30lb works for almost anything

Most braids shouldn't do any harm. If you want to especially cautious I would avoid rough braids like OG power pro
