  1. Or go into the next forum "tacklemaking" and you will find some too!
  2. Awesome! Thanks
  3. Where might I find the most recipes for soft plastic bait colors? Thanks for your help!
  4. Excellent bass lure in my opinion, I don't know how many bass I have caught using it in a shad pattern. One of the former Lake Fork guides and BASS fisherman turned me on to them.
  5. I currently have one of each and have one, maybe two more coming that I have bought. My question is, can the US300s be upgraded to 6 ball bearings like the US600s? Just wondering if I could get the smooth feeling out of the 300s that I do from the 600s. If so, where could I buy parts? Thanks!
  6. Very nice work! I cannot wait to get started in bait making.
  7. 6" lizard in several colors. I have had great luck on several colors of them and haven't caught more on anyone color than the other. I use them til they won't stay on a hook any longer.
  8. I don't remember the name of it, but it was the yellow Kevlar line. That crap sucked! I admit that I did buy the helicopter lure and did catch a 4 lb bass using the white one as a topwater.
  9. I actually bought a pack at academy on friday and caught one 13" (no giant of course) on one saturday morning. I was crappie fishing in a crappie house and had my bass stuff with me, so I decided to try one and jig it up and down in the well and caught him. Excited to try it in other areas and see how they really work.
  10. There are some places that can take a photo and transfer it to canvass like a painting. You might do a google search. I know there is a place here in town where I live that does it, but I have not seen any in person.

The one thing to remember is practice, practice, practice because mastering the airbrush is not easy. I did taxidermy for 10 yrs and painted many fish, etc. and they are honery. Good Luck!
  12. I actually caught a 4# on a white helicopter lure They twisted my line so much (even w/ swivels) I had to quit using them. The eel looks pretty good, maybe I'll wait 'til they go on Wal*Mart clearance We have all caught fish on things that look less like something natural. The fish have seen so many of the same thing, I think something different is always worth a shot.
  13. Not to mention any creatures smelling like Garlic ;D
  14. That is an awesome site. Thanks for posting
  15. As a former taxidermist of 10 yrs, we don't use jaw inserts on LMB. The fins are only artificial if originals were too damaged to repair, but REAL replacement fins can usually be used from other non-mounted fish. Artificial fins look too fake, I never used them.
  16. Larew salt craw pumpkin w/ chart pinchers Texas rigged
  17. Tom, I charged $15/inch. Some charge more, some less. Thomas
  18. Just found this site and WOW I love it already! As a former taxidermist of 10 yrs, yes get a replica and let that fish live to produce lots more future lunkers. A lot get killed before they reach that size. They are the minority. Replicas will last beyond your lifespan, so something to pass on. Skin mounts will go down hill eventually. Lake Fork Taxidermy is a great place to get a replica and have the reputation and business. Only go to a shop that does. Ask questions and make sure to examine their work. Don't go by price alone.
