Where do bass go after a thunderstorm
Going fishing today but a thunderstorm hit most of Texas throughout the early morning hours, and it happens to be a day before the new moon, if that's helps. Where do bass go after a thunderstorm?what types of bait are better to use (topwater, jigs, texas rigs, swimbaits)? what colors should I be using? Would a pond be better than going to the local resovoir?

Heavy pressured pond fishing
So I live in south texas, and sometimes I don't have time to go to the lake in my city so I go to a public pond near my house. The pond is always filled with people and it's only about 1 1/2 acre in size and The water has about 4-6 feet of visibility. I've cought several fish from there but it's tough and only getting harder. I've seen people catch them like nothing with sausages and chicken gizzards when I have been out there for like an hour but I refuse to go that route. Do you all have any suggestions on what I can do to catch fish, or should I just give in and use catfish bait to catch bass in that pond?

Finding bass by Water temp
So i went fishing today, on an aluminum boat i bought recently but had trouble locating bass. I was hoping for the largemouth to be biting but I couldn't mark any. The water temp was 61 and rose to 63 through out the day (according to my fish finder). Where do the bass go when the water temp is 60-65 degrees and what lures should I be using.

Does splashing baits scare bass
I was wondering if splashing baits scares bass. I seem to make loud splashes when casting lures, does that seem to matter? If it does are there any tips to stop that or is it just something that happens?

Lew's hypersonic speed spin combo
Does anyone own a lew's hypersonic speed spin combo. I'm interested in getting one but hesitant at the same time. Can't find any information or reviews on it and thought I should ask here before pulling the trigger. The questions I have about it are 1. What's the max drag on it 2. Would it be reliable at the price it has ($40) 3. Would I be able to get replacement parts 4. How durable would the medium rod be 5. What's the max load the rod can handle before snapping

Anti-reverse problem
Hey guys.... I have a reel that not to long ago started to make some weird noises why I was using an umbrella rig, and now the reel is back spinning. Would the weight of the umbrella rig cause the anti reverse mechanism to go out or is it just something that happens with time? By the way the reel is an h2o express motive and it was handed down to my by a relative and I'm not sure how long he had it for.

Cold weather retrieves and best lures
Oh ok.. I thought the cold rain and nights had changed the water temperature. So then it's still kinda the same as summer fishing?! Cuz I went before the cold front started but it had already been raining and it made the waters kinda dirty in the ponds and more turbid in the main lake and I had been using the same lures as I was in the summer before all the rain started but I had no luck with that.

Cold weather retrieves and best lures
I wouldn't know about that since I'm new to bass fishing, but we have had a couple of nights with 50 degree weather while raining in my area. Would that cause the temperature in the water to drop or would it still be considered summer bass fishing? Because the bite has gotten tuff since it started raining and now with this cold front.....

Cold weather retrieves and best lures
So... the first cold front has hit in south texas, and I wanted to know what kind of retrieves are best for cold weather and also what the largemouth seem to be hitting the best. Should I use suspending jerkbaits/crankbaits, a-rigs, swimbaits or jigs. Planning on going fishing soon and would just like to have better odds. Thank in advance for the help.

New bass angler.. need help
Thanx for the input guys. I was using color combinations that were mostly in the shad range for the lipless crankbaits, and watermelon red and green pumpkin for the plastics. Never tried the spinner or buzzbait. Ill try to get some tackle this weekend and try some new stuff. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to retrieve them or is it just a thing where you have to try all kinds of retrieves to see what gets the bite. And last thing, do largemouth bass stay at a certain depth or does that all depend on the season, because in the summer I would let the lipless crankbaits hit the bottom but I could never actually tell how deep it was. I also have some squarebills but the deepest one I have will only go 6 ft. Should I get deeper diving crankbaits or are those fine for fishing from the bank?

New bass angler.. need help
Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and to fishing bass. I need help choosing lures for the fall in DEEP South Texas. I mainly fish from the bank for largemouth bass and was doing great in the summer with crankbaits and t-rigged worms and creature baits. Now we have been having quite a bit of rain and the waters have turned muddy in some ponds and more turbid in the only big lake we have here. The fishing hasn't been real good in the past couple of weeks since it started raining. What colors and baits work best during this time of year?
