  1. If it’s off or max speed it’s fine. It’s most of the speeds in between.
  2. That is what I am using. A 12v 7ah battery for just the fish finder.
  3. The battery and wiring is the same one I used in my kayak.
  4. It’s on its own battery
  5. I have a Garmin Striker 4 and I have it mounted to my Minn Kota Endura Max 55. I am using the trolling motor as my primary motor on a Sun Dolphin sportsman 8. This is a new boat and trolling motor I previously had the Garmin on my kayak and didn't have this issue. Now the problem I have is any speed other then max speed i get this distortion on my Garmin. I have the transducer mounted very secure with a hose clamp. I am attaching an image of what it looks like. I am assuming it has something to do with vibration. Thanks in advance
  6. I just recently bought a minn Kota Endura max 55lb thrust trolling motor. When I took it out of the box I followed the instructions and inserted the handle. Now if I go to try to extend the handle it is pretty difficult to pull out. I have to grab the head of the trolling motor and really pull. It seems to go through all the forward and reverse speeds smoothly. I was just curious if this is normal? or if I might have broke something.
  7. Anyone put kayak rail systems like yakattack geartrac on their plastic boats? If so how well did it work for you? I am think of mounting my transducer and fish finder on them.
  8. Well I said screw it for now because I don’t see anything out there that I like under $2500 and went with a sun dolphin sportsman plastic bass boat. This also gives me the opportunity to try to take my 3 y/o son out.
  9. Thanks for all the input. Do you guys consider not having reverse to be a big deal on the pedal kayaks?
  10. I currently have a cheap pretty unstable sit on top kayak. I am thinking about upgrading and have been having a tough time deciding between a pedal of paddle kayak. I fish a lot of small ponds and maximum size lake of about 700 acres. I am reluctant to go pedal drive because of cost(I can afford them but not sure I want to) and most of the waters I fish can get weedy and I don’t know if I want to be picking weeds out of a propeller every 15 minutes. There are also select ponds that are really shallow and weedy that I like to fish. My current kayak is a is a tank and super slow. I saw the ex123 and it looks appealing because it is stable and really quick. I was curious what everyone’s opinion is on this kayak or if anyone has any better ideas of what I should look for. Thanks in advance.
  11. I will try turning down the gain and taking all the auto functions off.
  12. Last time I used my garmin striker this is pretty much what it looked like on the whole pond. Is this a thermocline? This was set on auto gain low and if i manually adjusted the gain it would go away but it seemed like I like a lot of bottom resolution.
  13. This is when the depression sets in. Driving around this morning and there is skim ice everywhere.
  14. If this post is for real then its simple don't fish. Also don't mow your lawn or eat anything.
  15. I fish out of a yak. It’s not bad and it gets you to the fish but I am probably going to be moving towards a Jon boat. I’m sure the experience gets better the more you spend but I can’t justify spending thousands on a kayak when I could just get a Jon boat with a trailer.
