Interference on fish finder
If it’s off or max speed it’s fine. It’s most of the speeds in between.

Interference on fish finder
That is what I am using. A 12v 7ah battery for just the fish finder.

The battery and wiring is the same one I used in my kayak.

Interference on fish finder
I have a Garmin Striker 4 and I have it mounted to my Minn Kota Endura Max 55. I am using the trolling motor as my primary motor on a Sun Dolphin sportsman 8. This is a new boat and trolling motor I previously had the Garmin on my kayak and didn't have this issue. Now the problem I have is any speed other then max speed i get this distortion on my Garmin. I have the transducer mounted very secure with a hose clamp. I am attaching an image of what it looks like. I am assuming it has something to do with vibration. Thanks in advance

Trolling motor possible issue
I just recently bought a minn Kota Endura max 55lb thrust trolling motor. When I took it out of the box I followed the instructions and inserted the handle. Now if I go to try to extend the handle it is pretty difficult to pull out. I have to grab the head of the trolling motor and really pull. It seems to go through all the forward and reverse speeds smoothly. I was just curious if this is normal? or if I might have broke something.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Anyone put kayak rail systems like yakattack geartrac on their plastic boats? If so how well did it work for you? I am think of mounting my transducer and fish finder on them.

Bonafide EX123 or something else
Well I said screw it for now because I don’t see anything out there that I like under $2500 and went with a sun dolphin sportsman plastic bass boat. This also gives me the opportunity to try to take my 3 y/o son out.

Bonafide EX123 or something else
Thanks for all the input. Do you guys consider not having reverse to be a big deal on the pedal kayaks?

Bonafide EX123 or something else
I currently have a cheap pretty unstable sit on top kayak. I am thinking about upgrading and have been having a tough time deciding between a pedal of paddle kayak. I fish a lot of small ponds and maximum size lake of about 700 acres. I am reluctant to go pedal drive because of cost(I can afford them but not sure I want to) and most of the waters I fish can get weedy and I don’t know if I want to be picking weeds out of a propeller every 15 minutes. There are also select ponds that are really shallow and weedy that I like to fish. My current kayak is a is a tank and super slow. I saw the ex123 and it looks appealing because it is stable and really quick. I was curious what everyone’s opinion is on this kayak or if anyone has any better ideas of what I should look for. Thanks in advance.

Fish finder question
I will try turning down the gain and taking all the auto functions off.

Fish finder question
Last time I used my garmin striker this is pretty much what it looked like on the whole pond. Is this a thermocline? This was set on auto gain low and if i manually adjusted the gain it would go away but it seemed like I like a lot of bottom resolution.

I fish out of a yak. It’s not bad and it gets you to the fish but I am probably going to be moving towards a Jon boat. I’m sure the experience gets better the more you spend but I can’t justify spending thousands on a kayak when I could just get a Jon boat with a trailer.

Went to sheeps yesterday water temp was about 53 and got completely skunked. Trout were all over the place eating some type of recent insect hatch. It looked like a pod of dolphins. All I had for trout were some inline spinners but they weren't having it. I have been getting skunked a lot lately I need to rethink my kayak strategy. I seem to get hung up on trying to fish deep.

I should be at Sheeps in Brewster tomorrow. I have never been there so should be interesting. I am paddle only so if it takes you 15 min to get all the way down I will probably be a half hour.

Night fishing
I think there is actually a boat ramp at that R now that I look at it again so I have access there.

Night fishing
Meaning somewhere I can walk around the pond? If that is what you mean then I cant fish without my kayak. There are probably hundreds of ponds around here from where glaciers receded but they are all wooded around the perimeter with limited access. But even when I fish from my kayak I have horrible luck. I have a Garmin striker 4 and I seem to just search for dropoffs and get tunnel vision trying to fish them. This is an example of one of a 53 acre ponds I fish. The highlighted spots are where I have access.

Ok I thought it was down there just wasn't sure what road it was. How much parking is there?

Night fishing
So I know night fishing is usually a summertime thing but due to my schedule if I want to consistently get out fishing most of the time it is from 8pm-11pm. I am mostly from shore at these times and most of the places I fish the only access is a town beach with the rest of the 50-200 acre pond being wooded to the shoreline or residential houses. These are mostly kettle ponds with not much structure with water clarity being clear and the water temps are around 51F right now. I have waders and usually wade the shore a bit. Now I have had pretty much no luck doing this. I have only caught one fish since June and that was on a kayak. Other then that I have not even gotten a bite. Is this just the time that I am choosing to fish or is there something I should be throwing? I have thrown lipless cranks, various texas rigged baits, ned rig, jigs, whopper ploppers. I am just not sure what I am doing wrong(pretty sure it is me). I feel like I am focusing on the drop offs I know are there that I can get from shore. I think overall I am focusing deep a lot due to the first 10-20 feet of the shoreline being maybe a foot deep. Should I just walk the shore and pound the banks? I am at a loss but I would love to end this bad run. I should probably mention I am getting back into fishing after about 20 years. Thank you in advance.
