  1. I bought the 6'10 med and 7'6 heavy during the Xmas sale. They were on sale for $99 back then. They are solid rods and balance pretty well. I been using the 6'10" a lot for jerk baits, light and responsive. Have not used the 7'6" yet.
  2. Good deal on the penn conflicts. Picked one up. Thanks.
  3. https://www.amazon.com/Abu-Garcia-Villain-Spinning-Fishing/dp/B011LV3JDG/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_3?crid=1433XAX07WD4U&keywords=abu+garcia+villain+2.0+spinning+rod&qid=1552095680&s=gateway&sprefix=abu+garcia+vil%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-3-fkmrnull Abu Garcia Villain 2 6'10" ML spinning is $133 at amazon right now. Not bad deal but only 8 left. I'm tempted but controlled myself.
  4. Last year my local walmart had these on sale for $5 a spool so I picked up 8, 10, and 12lb spools. Only used the 12lb so far for main line and it held up well. Used the 8 and 10lb for leaders and did pretty well with them. Very good knot strength. As someone else noted, their diameter seems to be much higher per pound compared to pure fluoro.
  5. All their chatterbaits are on sale. I picked up some Project Zs to try out.
  6. https://edgerods.com/ Has a flash sale until March 10th. I picked up a first strike spinning rod to try out for under $200 shipped. My understanding is these rods are essentially marked way up and then put on sale? either way, just want to try one anyways.
  7. Thanks everyone for the great input. I got the rod a couple days ago and its amazing. I put my existing Tatula LT 2500 on it and it balances great and is super light. But I think I'm going to buy a 2000 size anyways to try out. will report back. Now I'm thinking I should get another med power one as a dedicated senko rod, but might be over kill.
  8. Whats baloney about my statement? I have nothing against KK. They look good and are cheap but you do get what you pay for. That's all i'm saying. I can't remember the exact line I bought but it was in yellow and was clumpy. I think it was the wax or paint. But when I pick at it, the line frays. Does not give me confidence so I don't use it. I still use the other spoils of line and will continue to do so. But I'm going to give J-braid and Power Pro a try next just for comparison. Again, i'm getting back into the sport so really behind.
  9. Last year I got back into bass fishing. Bought two KK pro tournament bass rods. 1 Sharky spinning reel and 1 speed demon reel. Have to give them credit on looks, they are attractive. Less than 10 times out on the water, one rod started to make cracking sounds and the sharky reel started to act up. The paint on the speed demon reel rubbed off but still cast really well. But the tension nob was so loss that I had to constantly double check it. Bought three KK large spools of braid line. The most expensive spool with x8 strands have random clumps. During the same time I bought some lews reels and daiwa rods and had not a single problem. My point is their quality control is pretty bad.
  10. Thanks, your giving me confidence to go with my original Tatula LT 2000 selection!
  11. Ya, i went in blind as well. Never even held a St Croix rod before, but always read good things. But overall I have a feeling I'll be happy with it. there is 2.5% ebates as well so that adds a little to saving
  12. 25% Off with code "Winterstorm." But I had to pay tax.
  13. If i was to go with the Stradic, would the 1000 size model be too small? I also read somewhere the Stradic 1000 is about the same size as Tatula 2000. I really want to keep the total weight down and would likely use it for drop shotting with 10lb braid to 6lb leader.
  14. So I jumped on the sale from Gander and bought a St Croix Legend Elite 6'10" spinning rod. Read that this model rod is only 3.4 oz. I'm thinking of pairing it with a Daiwa Tatula TL 2000 (I have the 2500 model already and like it), but would love to hear suggestions from people with more gear knowledge. Thanks in advance!
  15. All rods seem to be included, i picked up St. Croix Legend Elite 6'10" ML. Can't wait for spring!
  16. I'm surprised the store employees aren't picking off these deals before hand.
  17. Bunch of Okuma Scott Martin Tournament Concept Rods TCS models on sale from Amazon. $98 for some models. Limited stock it seems. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F5E4Y8U/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1
