  1. Very sad. Be careful out there boys, no fish is worth your life. I have a 22 ft bay boat and I also fish inshore along the gulf and I've never seen waves like in Toledo Bend. I have been in some bad situations on TB. I tried to outrun a storm and didn't make it, sometimes it's better to just find a small cove and ride it out. It seems like a seasoned guide would know better but I don't know any of the details.
  2. It was a tough week. I fished Monday through Thursday at the Indian Mounds, Negreet, and Caney Creek. We caught about 15 fish with only 1 keeper. Also blew out a hub on my trailer on Highway 191. Fun times!
  3. Yesterday caught 16. Only 4 were keepers but 2 were over 4lbs. All caught on T-Rigged Senkos in Housen. Very shallow on the grass edges. This was my first time in Housen in over a year and I was pleasantly surprised with all the hydrilla. It covered the whole cove.
  4. Fished this morning at the Indian Mounds. Caught 7 keepers and 2 throw backs. All caught on wacky rig senko in about 2-5 foot of water. Water temperature was 62 in very back of the cove.
  5. I fished today for about 4 hours and didn't get a bite. Water temp was 57 and the water was slightly stained around the big bass marina cove.
  6. Not much to report but here it is: Monday afternoon: Hot and calm winds. Caught 3 keepers around Caney Creek on C-Rig Fluke in 13ft of water. Shad was everywhere but I couldn't find fish. Tuesday Morning: Indian Mounds. I fished the edges of a creek in 12-20ft. Caught 5 undersized fish on C-Rig fluke, rattletrap, and t riged brush hog. Tuesday afternoon: Fished Caney Creek again. Shad was everywhere. 12-25 ft. I threw everything in the tackle box and no bites. Wednesday Morning. Negreet Creek. Fished points and ledges 15-25ft. Tried everything no bites. I found a brush pile with crappie on it so I gave up bass and caught 7 huge crappie on a Lil fishy. This was my first time bass fishing with a Garmin Livescope. Didn't seem to help me much except for finding balls of shad. I wasn't able to figure out what a bass looks like.
  7. I guess everyone is hunting. I'm going to the Bend on Monday and wanted to see if anyone was catching. I'll post a report when I get back.
  8. I been lurking here for a while and thought I would finally contribute. All fish were caught in 2-3 foot of water because I can't seem to get them to bite offshore. She the attached photo. Thursday Afternoon: Very windy. Caught 6. biggest 3Lbs on T-Rig watermelon Red Sinko and C rig brushhog. Indian Mounds Area Friday Morning: Fished the same area without a bite. Friday Afternoon: 3 Spotted Bass and 7 white perch in Negreet Saturday Morning: Fished Negreet and had one small one Saturday Afternoon: Caught 7 on wacky rig sinko at the Indian Mounds. Biggest was 3lbs. I've attached a picture that I took on my fish finder. This appears to be bass feeding a shad. I tried everything to get them to bite (even shiners). How would you approach these fish? Any tips would be appreciated.
