Help with fishing strip pits SE Missouri, Kansas
Replying to an old topic. I'm looking to take a trip to the mined areas and fish for a couple of days in my Ap120 kayak. Planning on an early morning start plus an overnight in the car or nearby BB. I've never been to the mined areas and planning to visit in May /June. I have no idea what to put into Google maps etc. or where to start Can anyone give me r direction on this. Traveling from OP. KS. Thanks Gary

What do I need to get Humminbird Mega Live?
Hey all.. my new to me Ranger came with a Humminbird Helix 10 G2N on the bow and a Lowrance Hook 7 in the cockpit. I'm interested to learn what I need to get in order to have Mega 360 and Live. My Plan would be to move the G2 to the console and install new hardware upfront. I'm thinking that I'd need a new Helix / Solix for the bow, a 360 transducer and a mega live transducer? I have a three year old MK Ultrex. I understand that I could share via Network my new 360 images from bow to the G2 - could I share the Mega Live images too? Am I on the right lines here? Any input welcome. Gary

Looking at first boat recommendations for a noobe
didn't realize that it took me almost two years - what with that covid thing and moving house etc to finally pull the trigger. Oh that and a pension that I was completely unaware of came to be. Picked up a 2018 Ranger RT188 in white this morning. Brand new trailer, Merc 115 with less than 30 hours on it. MK Ultrex I-Pilot and Hummingbird Helix 10. Pretty decent price too given the amount of money being asked for used boats right now. Came of a local dealers lot and I couldn't be happier.

Catfishing in NE Kansas
Thanks Russ. appreciate the response. You wouldn't happen to know the typical depth of the water around that spot? Is the lake bed typically rock / gravel / timber strewn ?? Browsed a few maps but didn't yet find the answers I was looking for Trying to figure my tackle bag.... ?

Catfishing in NE Kansas
Hoping someone out there picks up on this message. I gave a couple of hours to kill and one place I'm thinking of is the Outlet on La Cygne. I'm on foot so I'm limited in options. Not many videos around of the outlet from a bank perspective - I have seen one with everyone casting over a fence (not what i'm looking to do) KS outdoors says : Good shoreline angler access is provided by the Linn County Park on the west side of the lake. HOT WATER ACCESS. On the east side of the lake access to the hot water return, where a lot of fish are caught when its cold, is: at 69 HWY and Ks HWY 152, go east and drive across the dam on E.2200 Rd., turn north at Young Rd. and go West at E. 2400 Rd. to the parking lot. Anglers walk from the parking lot west on the path to the hot water return area. But this is a great place to fish. a} Is there access around the outlet that's not obstructed by the fence that's worth fishing and b} Would the water be warm enough to try some of the other bank accessible spots on the lake? I don't mind the walk and I'm not expecting bags of fish.. just a chance and getting some. thanks in advance....

Looking at first boat recommendations for a noobe
Nice ride - thanks for the info. I'm sure it will take me a few months to get my head around what I want! I have the 3.3L v6 AWD... So that's a plus I don't know if I want / need glass or tin. Still reading and learning about the advantages of both. So much to consider!

Looking at first boat recommendations for a noobe
Hi Folks, I have been given the go ahead to buy my first fishing boat (thanks hunny)- and I couldn't be more excited or nervous. I hope to be fishing in KS / MO on Wyandotte, Shawnee and La Cygne etc. As boats go I have a small budget - up to 8k all in and will be pulling it with a Kia Sorrento V6 awd (rated at 3000lbs). Fishing wise - it will often be just me and maybe a plus 1, although I'd like space to carry the dog and have somewhere for my wife to get a bit of sun! The more comfort and storage the better. I'm pretty certain I'm looking at an older boat. I have no preconceived ideas. Looking for your expert guidance here ? Thanks in advance.
