Lets talk knots
I use the 16/20 knot for almost everything although I call it a modified San Diego Jam. It is quick and easy and can be tied with gloves on.

Boat Buddy
Well I got a hold of one at BPS last night. I opened the package and played around with it for a while. It wouldn't even close without a boat eye in it. I guess I won't be owning one until they make a lot of improvements.

Trolling motors
I also had one once and won't have another one.

Boat wax
Once in a while I use a fiberglass boat wax. Most of the time I use Bass Boat Saver. It is quick and easy and if you use it often it keeps the boat looking good. I also use it on the motor, boat seats, windshields and trailer tires.

Finding lead
I did it one time and one time only. It wasn't worth the mess and trouble for what I got.

Has anyone tried Fireline Braid?
I tried the original fused Fireline for a year. It was a big headache with knots appearing in the line and odd breakoffs half way back to the reel on hangups. I got rid of it and went to Power Pro several years ago. I have some PP on reels which have been in place for over 5 years.

Tubes
I always have at least one tube tied on. Melon pepper is the best color most days, smoke, black and pumpkin seed are also good. I have found that the 4" work best for me. I use them with jig inserts, bell sinker inserts, and Trigged, mostly with the jig inserts though.

Boat Buddy
The next time I am at Bass Pro I plan to look at them up close and personal. If I like the way the look I might be interested in taking yours off your hands. Decide what you want for it shipped to MO and get back to me later this week or early next.

Boat Buddy
I have been reading some reviews of this item and got to wondering if any of you guys use it. If so what is your opinion of it? http://www.kodiaktrailer.com/content/view/14/31/

Epoxy for jig heads
I don't apply anything to them. I bake them in a toaster oven to make the paint harder.

Ultralight fishing?
I'd like to see some research on that topic instead of a bunch of spit and whittle opinions. I fish a lot of 6 and 8 # line on light weight rods. I don't have any fish belly up and die when I turn them loose unless they have come from 40-50' down.

jig making question?
I have tried lots of ways to protect the WG and found none of them to be good. I have devised several plugs to put into the molds and cast them w/o the WG. I paint them, redrill [when necessary] the holes, put on all skirting material, then glue in the WG.

My next rig? Need advice
I think you are missing a crankbait rod in the arsenal. The sjpinning will let you fish a lot of plastics and smaller jigs while your mh setup should work for jigs and spinnerbaits. Lots of guys use a baitcaster with a M rod for cranking and you don't have one YET.

braid vs mono on baitcaster
I use 30# Power Pro on both spinning and baitcasting reels. I only have mono left on a couple. I like it for the feel and the fact that I don't have to worry about changing it like I always did mono.
-
Homemade Scent
I mix petroleum jelly with garlic powder and salt. Smear it on a bait and it will last all day.

REEL MAGIC!
Just be sure that you know it is REAL not REEL magic. Some people have used it for reel oil and that is a no no. I keep several cans of it around all the time to slick up stuff. It make old mono cast better and makes braid quieter.

how much will a 24-36 volt battery cost?
Most tmotor batteries come in 12V. You have to have 2 wired in series to make 24V. Three to make 36.

Finding lead
Remodelers are a good source for soft lead. Old shower stalls have a 40# lead sheet in the floor. Hospitals are also a good source. I once got a 4'X8' sheet of dry wall covered with lead from an X-ray room. Hospitals also get radio active meds in lead containers. I have several of them out in the shop awaiting melting and casting. Don't forget recycle centers and salvage yards. I have bought lead at them for as little as $0.25 per pound. I know of some guys who have recycled lead from berms at shooting ranges.

What Rod?
From that list I would get the Avid.

Battery / Charger Question
Leave the charger like it is. It will charge both batteries that are hooked parallel. It will take a lot longer to charge 2 than just the one.

Lake Hamilton, Ouachita, DeGray in Arkansas
By that time of the year De Gray will be loaded with hydrilla. I like it but hate the hydrilla. I am sending you a PM so you can get some local info.

winds
It would really help to know a little more; like the layout of the land, the size of your boat, the size of your tmotor, the direction you are fishing, and what type of baits you are using. Personally, I like to fish windy areas but my most fav bank on one lake I fish is unfishable in anything more than a 10 mph South wind. It is a deep rocky place and you can't feel your bait or keep good eye contact with a South wind.
