  1. I assume that you are ordering from one of the retail stores. If so then it is probably the marine accessories department. I'd call and ask for the manager of that department. If he/she isn't in get their name and ask to be transferred to customer services. Tell them your problem and that you want to speak to the accessories dept mgr as soon as that person is next in the store. Leave a number and tell them you expect a call. Also ask for the store general manager's name.

That looks a whole lot like the poison tail which GMAN on this site sells. I just got 200 from him last week. http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=2516&CATID=59
  3. OR you can take it to a shop and for about $300 they will buff it out for you.
  4. Is it possible to set it up by using one chip in one unit allowing the other two units to read the map. NO EACH UNIT HAS TO HAVE ITS OWN MAPPING CARD. If it states the unit is NMEA 2000 standard will it allow units of different manufacturer to coexist? NOT THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD OF. Will the NMEA 2000 network allow multiple sonar/gps units to use a single antenna? YES, I AM RUNNING 2 LOW UNITS ON ONE ANTENNA. Can you run the other sensors such as temp probes, speed sensors, and fuel flow sensors? YES, IF YOU SPEND THE CASH TO GET ALL OF THE STUFF. I am wanting to connect a Hummingbird 797 with a Lowrance 522c and maybe another that I have not purchased. I'M THINKING THE 797 AND THE 522C NETWORKED WOULD BE LIKE BREADING A POSSUM TO A HIPPO. IT WON'T WORK.
  5. There is a product called the alumaducer or something like that which is supposed to read through metal but the regular one aren't supposed to do that.
  6. Not all medium action rods are the same. I have some that will handle a 4" tube with a 1/4 oz jig insert. I also have some that would need a 2 1/2" tube with 1/8 oz or less. Experience with the setup will tell you what works best for you.
  7. Here is one of the screen shots from my 520c just to give you an idea of what you can see.
  8. I have the 520c which is the same unit with external antenna. The 522 is a great unit as long as you don't mount the head unit inside your dash or front panel. Most of the time it needs to be nonflush mounted in order for the antenna to get reception. As for mounting the xducer inside a fiberglass boat, it will decrease the sensitivity but not by enough that you will be able to notice it. Right now they are being clearanced many places and can be bought for under $500. I also heard that Wal-Mart on line had 520c for the same price.
  9. If it is hard water lime deposits, try a little Lime Away. I use it on the motor when mine gets that way.
  10. You will need at least 20 rods to use all of these suggestions. I'll add one more. We are fishing water in the mid 30s right now and catching bass in less than 20 fow. They won't even look at my jig no matter what size, color or trailer I have used. The 4" tube has been out producing all other baits for us with melon/pepper and pumpkin seed being the best colors. Good luck. I hope you win the T. Let us know.
  11. If you should get the opportunity, take along a few jigging spoons. Most years there is a threadfin dieoff on Table Rock. We used to catch bass during that time on the Hopkins Shorty 75.
  12. I fish a lot of football heads. Where I fish there are lots of rocks and I can't fish braid w/o a leader. I normally have a 4' fluro or mono leader.
  13. 2 sizes of chunks critter craws brush hogs twin tail grubs hula grubs beavers
  14. Are you are sure it is fiberglass and not gel coat getting stress cracks?
  15. Absolutely, positively, totally, completely, NO. Brands don't mean a thing to me except for rods and reels.
  16. I had the SJR843 for tubes with 1/8 and 1/4 oz inserts. It was way too stiff for my applications so I traded it off to a guy in San Francisco for lighter rod.
  17. I trim all of my jigs but I also make them. I like the skirt to be in 2 to 3 lengths depending on how many different layers or materials I am using to make it. i want a big profile most of the time. I keep sissors in the boat in case I want to remodel a jig skirt while I am fishing. I find it easier to trim on the water than wish I had more bulk or length. I don't trim fg 12 but do trim fg 30 and 40 and flare it.
  18. Seasonal patterns don't always lend themselves to the same type setups for me but in general I'd tend to take the following to be able to cover most of the bases. All of them are loaded with 30# Power Pro with some type of leader either fluro or mono varying from 10-17#. Now as for baits I'd need a wheel barrow. 7' HF casting rod/reel 7' MHF casting rod/reel 6.5' MHF casting rod/reel 6.5' M spinning rod/reel 6.5 M spinning rod/reel
  19. I keep my rubber and silicone skirted jigs in plastic boxes by size. All colors and head styles go into the box as long as they are the same size (different box for different size). My system wouldn't work very well from the bank.
  20. There is no set rule of formula that I am aware of. It all depends on how your boat sets on the water. Here is a link that might give you some ideas. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPage?mode=article&objectID=29748&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1
  21. I don't know anything about that line but you can check it with a dial caliper.
  22. If your unit is a Lowrance... If you have tried the exit key and it actually hasn't aquired anything, there are a few things which you can do. First off be sure you have wpts saved to an sd card which is not one of your Hot Spots or Nav. cards. Go into the menu and if WAAS is required uncheck it. If you are where it can't get WAAS it won't acquire. If you can get WAAS it will get it whether it is checked or not. If you still aren't acquiring then get your manual and do a soft reset. That should correct it if it is a software problem. If that doesn't work then do a hard reset. A hard reset will change everything back to factory settings and delete all wpts, icons, trails and routes so back them up. If none of them work then call Lowrance at 1-800-324-1356. If you have a Bird. I can't help you.
  23. I have been using depth finders for a long time and am just now comtemplating springing for a good Aqua-Vu so I can check my interpretation of some wpts. Get comfortable with the sonar before you go for the camera.

I buy my plastics by the 100 when I can. I have a special bait closet in the garage where I keep them in plastic bags. I keep about 6-10 of each that I plan to use in plastic boxes in the boat. I haven't noticed any difference whether they are in the bag or box.
  25. I use the 16/20 knot for almost everything although I call it a modified San Diego Jam. It is quick and easy and can be tied with gloves on.
