  1. Yes, I started fishing as a kid back in 2006 but for seven years I wasn't fishing at all, from 2011 to 2018 I was in middle school and high school and at that time I'd rather do teenager things instead of fishing. i finally got back into fishing after graduating and haven't stopped since. to a certain sense though bass fishing saved me from myself. I was able to meet people through it and made connections which helped me with my current education level and job. plus it's a great cure for depression or other stresses in life. I am thankful for bass fishing.
  2. This year i'm purchasing a new lithium battery for my 55lb minn kota to replace my old lead acid battery, with this new purchase do I have to also buy a new charger? I'm currently using the minn kota portable charger to charge all my current batteries. will that also work with the lithium? I'm new to lithium batteries so I personally have no idea. thanks!
  3. BASS and MLF would be fun to watch again IMO if they had no livescope/FFS tournaments. Livescope is here to stay and won't be going away anytime soon and some people need to accept that. but the option to watch people fish without it would be entertaining.
  4. I've only been a member here since 2019 but I have noticed a decline in posting from the "old timers". It's life man stuff happens haha, this is my first time here in 2024. Hopefully to those who are still with us but not active I hope are doing well. I haven't been active since the fall but the fishing itch is beginning to come alive again....
  5. Yes. A friend of mine who also owns a bass raider mounted it on the front by using the lock in bracket mounted to a piece of metal that connects to the trolling motor mount on the front of the boat. But he has a motorguide but it's the same setup basically. I would get the edge or some other model from minn kota but the powerdrive is the closest I can afford and would work with my boat. I appreciate all the feedback though. 🙏
  6. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/minn-kota-powerdrive-bow-mount-bluetooth-enabled-trolling-motor?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=BPS|Shopping|PMax|Boating|General|NAud|NVol|NMT&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8rfx8aukggMVrU5HAR3TFgWIEA0YASABEgKTUfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I'm totally new to all this, so does this mean it comes with i pilot it says bluetooth enabled
  7. So i'm buying a new minn kota powerdrive 45lb for my 10ft plastic bass raider next year to put up front, I currently have a 55lb endura max in the back but I would like more control up front, anyways the current price is listed at 699 on bass pro, does anybody know if this comes with the I pilot bluetooth compatibility? There's some motors listed over 1k $ with the i pilot remote but if I was to buy the one I mentioned and a seperate i pilot remote would it work? I heard something along the lines that all powerdrive models made after 2017 are compatible but I just wanted to be sure, thanks.
  8. @casts_by_fly took some pics of the shoreline to see what i'm talking about better. It's shallow and then drops off right where those reeds end, the entire steep side is like this. What should I throw around it and what color lures to match with the dirty green water, first pic is the regrowing hydrilla in the shallows but you can still see the algae bloom in the water. @casts_by_fly
  9. During the spring I had luck with there with the white python megabass sv-3 spinnerbait but the water was much clearer, with fall being a good spinnerbait time and this water being dirty would a double willow like that still work or should I be getting a colorado style in bright colors? Same with jerkbaits and cranks
  10. "Yeah, just you officer."
  11. Third picture is identical to my water clarity, like 99%, fish even look that that aswell. And yeah they haven't treated the lake in a month so there's some hydrilla beginning to grow back where it's shallow but only like right at the shoreline the rest of the lake is clear of it. I'm guessing that will probably die off since it's fall. With all the rain we had i'm sure the water is even more dirty now.
  12. The water is much more greaner and murky now than it was back then in the early spring. It's the same green color but just 12inches or less now since there's an algea bloom from weed treatments. The water clarity since they begun treatment has been this @casts_by_fly
  13. I'm in my early 20s but I do suffer from this occasionally. Most recently in the summertime, I workout frequently and fish so eventually the soreness and pain catches up lol, on and off the water. If the tennis elbow isn't severe I try to stretch it out and go easy on things but if it's bad I will apply icyhot lidocaine patches on the area and give it a rest. Lidocaine can be found at almost any pharmacy/drug store. I've even seen them in places like walmart. Also painkillers could ease it aswell. Hope that helps.
  14. The lake itself gets runoff from drainage pipes, it was made back in the 1980s I believe. The spot used to be a brick pit or something.
  15. Those are overhanging trees that were planted on the bank google earth makes them look like rocks, the shoreline is mostly featureless but there's some reeds or Phragmites as they're called that are in the water and then it's open water once it drops off. Here are some pictures from the bank before the water was treated and a lot clearer you'll see the reeds in a ft of water and then drops off into open water, these are only on the deep side first picture is the shallow end right at the drop off and the second is the bottom right of the pond.
  16. Lake on google images, i highlighted all the sections and the white line represents where I believe the shallow drop offs occur. Featureless for the most part with it being a little shallower than normal on the bottom left side. The entire right and bottom side is a drop off with occasional reeds and plants littering the bank. I've had luck fishing those but not the open water infront of them. Forgot to mention there's 4 aerators. This lake had a fishkill in the past and was restocked in 2019. Lake turnover caused it I believe.
  17. So this lake has a standard depth of 10ft all around one side of the lake is shallow which in return gradually gets deeper but the other side of it is a deep drop off about 10ft all around. With the water being dirty and it fall now should I focus my presentation on the deep side or shallow side? Will the fish suspend or hold tight to the bottom?
  18. Any fall tips for this place? Most of the grass is still gone and the water is still green and murky. Any good spinnerbait or crankbait color suggestions? Also where should I concentrate my fishing shallow or out deep?
  19. St croix bass x. 7'0 medium heavy, I've had mine for a year now and love it. Dobyns also makes rods at that below 150 dollar price point
  20. Zoom for soft plastics and it's not even close. Strike king for hard baits Zman for bladed jigs War eagle for spinnerbaits Keitech for swimbaits
  21. I try to match my colors best to the water clarity and sky conditions, at least up here in the northeast we have some colors that always work like anything perch or golden shiner (for hardbaits) usually if I catch fish on a certain color that I know for sure works under certain conditions I don't change it unless the conditions change. Not because the fish aren't interested. Usually there's some other factor at play with that like fish movement and mood.
  22. Know any good grease? Would ardent reel butter work?
  23. What parts do I need to oil/lube? I already did the spool and bearings that go into the tension knob and the shaft under the star drag I use shimano bantam oil since it came with a few SLX series I own will this be a good oil to get rid of the dryness in the reel? What parts need to be lubricated?
  24. Ignore any clacking since it's my finger occasionally hitting the drag star.
