Productive Fishing/Limited Funds
This is why Kayak fishing has become so popular, because we anglers realized we don't need a 60k boat and 15 rods and reels to go around and fish bodies of water, Any average joe can pick up some plastic worms, a 20 dollar bass combo some texas rigging hooks and maybe a yak or bank fish and catch more than someone with a 60k boat and 500 dollar combos, in my opinion that's what makes this sport so awesome.

OCD about Soft Plastic Colors
That a good drive up there, how has the bite been up there? What colors do you mainly throw?

ICAST 2019
Anyone see the new stuff the fishing companies are releasing for 2020? If those who don't know what ICast is. It's basically a fishing convention where all the brands come together and announce/show off new products for us anglers to buy. What are some of your thoughts on the new products that are coming out? I personally like the new deep chatterbait that Zman is releasing and some of the new KVD frogs so far.

OCD about Soft Plastic Colors
Are you in Jersey? I fish a couple lakes up north near the NY border

Anyone else?
All dinks this year. I fish a private lake in Northern NJ from time to time on a friends boat and was able to land a decent 2 lb largie but other than that most of my fish just barely miss 1 lb back when I was a multi species angler I could land some nice bass but now that I devoted my fishing to bass alone it's been tough.

OCD about Soft Plastic Colors
Confusion, better to keep it simple unless I know what works in some lakes. I have this peoblem a lot with new lakes that are in that 50/50 clear and dirty range. You might be able to see the bottom at like 2 feet but when you drop your soft plastic in open water it dissapears like right away

OCD about Soft Plastic Colors
Yeah, it's quite ridiculous how many colors these companies make

OCD about Soft Plastic Colors
Hey all, I been having this problem for awhile now when ever I fish some small lakes and ponds up here in Northern New Jersey and Eastern Pennslyvania, I fish a lot of soft plastics including Yum dingers, craws, senkos etc and for some lakes the water color can really be decieving. A few lakes here I already know the color code and know what to throw but for some lakes the water can be clear in one spot and then stained/Murky a bit in others. I almost go crazy deciding what colors to throw because of this issue, I keep it simple. Green pumpkin/watermelon for clear and Junebug/Black blue flake for stained/muddy but when the water is looking clear near the bank then murky out in open water it really causes confusion. Anyone else have this issue? Or is it me just having OCD?

Is anyone else getting tired of the Squad?
All I throw is KVDs 1.5 and 2.5s and maybe a deep diver if I'm fishing a bigger lake. Only around 6 bucks at my local stores Rage series always preformed better, bought a pack of the Krackin craw from googan baits they were selling them at Dicks sporting goods and After catching one dink the craw was basically destroyed worst than a senko after 1 fish. Not worth getting it snagged. But I'm still farely new to all around bass fishing so I can't really talk about snagging and losing lures.

Googan squad sucks. And this is coming from a young gun (22) Googan Baits are overpriced and have way too much oil, I'll stick with my rage craws and pit boss. Also heard they're making hard baits now, probably gonna be like 15 dollars for one little squarebill, screw that!

The Baitcaster rod question
This is my ideal setup i'm gonna go for, I really want to get into the specifics of this sport I plan to have 3 casting rods and one spinning rod Already have a walmart abu combo on a ugly stick. Love it but I want more since I fish specific baitshahahaha Thanks for the advice Glaucus, my first order of business is to get a new medium heavy rod. Since my Abu garcia is starting to act up. Once I get that setup I'll probably get my Medium fast setup for cranks and other lightweight stuff. I plan on getting a Enigma p100 with a lews laser sg1 since it's in my price range as a new medium heavy

The Baitcaster rod question
Hey all, I've recently got into fishing baitcasters and I want to expand my arsenal, I heard it's always good to just have medium heavies and I heard other people say you should have at least 5 different baitcasters with different sizes, (Medium fast, Crankbait rod, medium heavy, Heavy broom stick) I've been fishing for only bass for about 3 months now and my arsenal includes one baitcaster (Cheap 6:3:1 abu garcia) and a 6'6 ugly stick , I also have two spinning rods the same size (Medium action) Now I will be fishing the most basic Bass lures (Finesse, Cranks, Bottom baits, topwater, jigs, Spinners etc) but I just can't decided on what rod types I should get for each application and situation. I'm not asking for brand specifics just rod and reel sizes and types for the different situations I may encounter out on the water. I look foward to the responses!

Best style of jig for texas rig like hopping the bottom?
I'm looking for something all around. Mainly I fish small ponds and occasionally larger private lakes in Northern New Jersey and Pennslyvania, I tried fishing with mini jigs by strike king but I mainly ended up with those slimy **** weeds most of the time on my hook and craw trailer. I need something that can get through that slimy stuff and weed beds. Rocks I'm not really worried about. I have a 6:3 gear Abu garcia low profile and a 6'6 medium heavy. I want to upgrade to maybe a 7'3 or 7'0 medium action for skipping but I need to find a decent price rod and reel setup. I also use 12lb flourocarbon for all my baitcasters and mono for spinning rods. How is the football jig around slimy weeds? I want something that won't have weeds on it everytime I bring it in

Best style of jig for texas rig like hopping the bottom?
I really want to get into fishing jigs, this might be a thread for the fishing tackle area but as bass anglers do any of you guys have personal recommendations for a beginner jig fisherman? I've seen plenty of videos about them but from a more personal experience what would you guys recommend? Football head? Swim jig? Color combos etc? Types of trailers?
